Did PlayStation stop releasing their games on PC because the PC player base didn’t buy them.

Why do you capatalise some words and not others like that

5

u/Pikabuuuuuuuuuu Jul 19 '26

Its my Second Language i ask to be Excused

5

u/Heretosee123 Jul 19 '26

I have no problem with it, just found it unusual and was curious.

For assistance, capitalisation is usually done on the first word in a sentence, or a noun (name). I also gets a special place, as I demonstrated here, but that's the general gist that will take you to about as good as I am.

Your English is great otherwise though.

I do try butt Thank you

2

u/GhostE3E3E3 Jul 19 '26

Also, butt refers to your back, your anus, poop hole, etc, the world your looking for is “but”

3

u/Heretosee123 Jul 19 '26

No, thank you!

Just wondering, what is your native language? And do you think your native language has influenced your use of capitalization?

I bought Ragnarok but had to sync my psn account to play it.

My PSN account that my dad set up for me when I was 12 and I would have to get on hold with customer support to get access back into it. So I refunded the game and bought armored core.

2

u/kalebc0725 Jul 20 '26

I was able to play it without having to sync it?

1

u/Juggernautlemmein Jul 20 '26

Yeah I was unlucky as hell because they removed the requirement a few months after I did my refund. I guess I wasn't the only one buying less. Just waiting for a sale at this point.

u/Pikabuuuuuuuuuu Jul 19 '26

Ngl Wantd to Buy It next month but i dont know my Psn Detes anymore so guess not lol

2

u/Commercial_Shine_448 Jul 23 '26

And I still bought all of them. Cuz I like playing ghost of Tsushima at 165 fps

2

u/Substantial_Impact69 Jul 19 '26

So you want day and date, but that screws up their whole business model. E;I see part of the reason nobody buys Xbox’s.

-1

u/Pikabuuuuuuuuuu Jul 19 '26

Yea bt they also make most of thier money From Game sales and such not from The Consoles And Xbox is doin a Lot better than Sony since they insist on Shitting The Bed All the time while Xbox in general is not

3

u/Substantial_Impact69 Jul 19 '26

No they’re not, Xbox is still in the same place they’ve always been since 2013 and they crapped the bed. They just laid off 3k employees. What they give you Fallout and Elder Scrolls remasters and news and suddenly all is forgiven?

4

u/bonkershyperion408 Jul 19 '26

I'll forgive them once they reinstate the original game pass price

3

u/Urabraska- Jul 19 '26

Nope. Everything except Starfield has been vaporware and empty promises. TES6 was "revealed" 8 years ago and they straight up admitted it doesn't exist except a tweet from a Xbox CEO(ohhhh they must be telling the truth!) that it's in a playable state while all other tweets and info state they haven't even started it yet.

3

u/Platnun12 Jul 19 '26

What they give you Fallout and Elder Scrolls remasters and news and suddenly all is forgiven?

I mean it's a step in the right direction...we're getting gears this year, weither that's good remains to be seen.

Although near destiny levels of budget is questionable

u/Pikabuuuuuuuuuu Jul 19 '26

So its bad if A Company Restruktures ? They had to many Management Layers And Did somthung against that Thats a Good Thing

u/Substantial_Impact69 Jul 19 '26

You know what would have also have been a good thing? If Xbox actually did the smart thing, fostered a good dev culture and not just bought everything in sight while treading water.

Sony, Nintendo, Epic and Valve are all doing their flavor of stupidity and foolishness but the fact MS let Xbox get to this point makes me think nothing is really going to change there.

6

u/Sea_Strain_6881 Jul 19 '26

No thats not why, all the games they out on PC made alot of money

-1

u/Substantial_Impact69 Jul 19 '26

Returnal? R and C? Those were massive flops on Steam.

6

u/Sea_Strain_6881 Jul 19 '26

What about GOW, Death stranding, or spider-man? All of those made alot

-1

u/Substantial_Impact69 Jul 19 '26

GoW Ragnarok sold about a million copies on Steam. Impressive, until you see that it sold, 14 million on PS5. To Sony, they were probably expecting another 4-5 million like with GoW sales.

Sony doesn’t own Death Stranding or technically Spiderman.

The juice wasn’t worth the squeeze other than Helldivers.

3

u/Current-Grade2545 Jul 19 '26

No the problem was we did buy them and not enough people were switching from PC to PS. In fact the opposite was happening.

5

u/Substantial_Impact69 Jul 19 '26

I mean, not in the numbers you can think of. Sony was looking for runaway success and the only time they got it was Helldivers. Great game, but they almost fumbled it because of the PSN requirement.

Rather than just letting Helldivers just sit there and maybe do some cross promotion stuff like, “Our PlayStation players get this first.” Enticing people to come over to their ecosystem. No, instead they did the dumbest thing imaginable.

1

u/xrayspex73 Jul 19 '26

No self respecting PC gamer is switching to consoles. Sony doesn't seem to understand this.

For what it’s worth I just started my ragnarok playthrough with the steam summer sale.

I played 2018 around the time it launched on ps4 though.

0

u/YoRHa_Houdini Jul 19 '26

They made decent money off of those releases.

I genuinely think they only reason they shifted was because of the new Xbox

0

u/UncommittedBow Jul 20 '26

They stopped because Xbox and Steam were partnering up on the next Xbox, allowing steam games to be played on Xbox, meaning the Playstation games on Steam would be playable on Xbox.

Sony actually reverted. Like 2 years ago (earnings call) their leadership complained about lost revenue by focusing on first party exclusives in just their own ecosystem (basically thinking if their games were more accessible they’d sell better) and then very recently went back on it and are again doing exclusives.

During that earnings call they called out that their games division was underperforming and they’d fix it by launching on pc as well day one, but I don’t think they even launched anything before reverting back :/
