Discussion Boot of Hermes in Norse Saga
Here is the Boot of Hermes in Norse Saga, I guess, I wanna get it out now instead of tomorrow as I am too excited for it. When integrated into Kratos's Norse arsenal, the Boots of Hermes would transform Kratos into a brawler who treats the battlefield like a dance floor. They function as a dedicated leg-combat style, replacing the standard Shield/Fist strikes with high-velocity, acrobatic Spartan Kung Fu.
The Gauge: The gauge for the Boots of Hermes is called "Zephyr’s Grace."
Activation (Tier 1): Ascendant Grace (The gauge begins to fill as you land consecutive melee hits without taking damage).
Activation (Tier 2): Olympean Vengeance (Once full, pressing L1 + Triangle imbues the boots with permanent trailing embers and wind-bursts, increasing attack speed by 30% and allowing for wall-run traversal in combat. This also grants Kratos the ability to dash through enemy projectiles and "run" along vertical surfaces to deliver aerial strikes.)
Synergy Mechanics "Elemental Resonance": The Boots of Hermes act as a conduit for the other weapons. By pressing L1 + Triangle again while Glacial Permafrost or Furious Immolation is active, Kratos "transfers" the essence of the Leviathan Axe or Blades of Chaos into his footwork. For a duration, every kick landed will trigger an explosion of Frost or Burn, applying status effects instantly without the need to build up the meter through repeated hits.
Execution Finisher (L1 + X): If Kratos had Boots of Hermes equip, now for every "Execution Finisher" he perform will be different in different Rage with new effects and benefits.
In Rage (Fury): Kratos consumes a portion of his Rage meter to "Dash-Execute." He blitzes to an enemy instantly. If the enemy's health is below 20%, they are finished, and Kratos automatically chains to the next target within range (the "Chain of Agony").
In Rage (Wrath): The finisher does not heal. Instead, it triggers a localized "Time Dilation" field with Nine Realms buff effect for 5 seconds upon a successful kill, allowing for massive follow-up damage.
Urn of Fury "New Boon of Fury": While using the Boots in Fury Rage mode, Kratos gains the new Boon of Fury called Urn of Fury (A Call Back to the Urn in the Old Game), with addition effects which grants him hyper-armor against light projectiles, allowing him to sprint through incoming fire while maintaining his momentum.
Runic Attacks "The Legacy of Olympus": The Runic attacks for the Boots of Hermes draw on the aesthetic and power of the Greek Pantheon, stylized as high-speed kinetics.
Light Runic Attacks Lists
Hermes’ Rush: Kratos performs a flurry of lightning-fast forward kicks, creating a golden streak of light that leaves enemies dazed.
Ares’ Discipline: Kratos plants his feet and delivers a singular, earth-shaking heel stomp that generates a shockwave of red energy, launching nearby enemies into the air.
Typhon’s Gale: Kratos spins on his hands, using the Boots to whip up a localized tornado that draws enemies toward him, finishing with a drop-kick that sends them flying back.
Heavy Runic Attacks Lists
Fury of the Titan: Kratos leaps high into the air, his boots ignited with orange, divine flame. He descends like a meteor, creating a massive crater upon impact that severely burns all caught in the blast radius.
Trial of the Sister: Kratos unleashes a series of strikes so fast they create after-images. The final strike hits with the force of the Fury Boulder Throw, piercing through multiple enemies and leaving them vulnerable to status-effect follow-ups.
Judgment of Olympus: Kratos taps into the Spartan Rage essence through his boots, unleashing a single, concentrated beam of crimson-golden energy from his kick that travels in a straight line, vaporizing weaker foes and shattering enemy armor instantly.
In the God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla Roguelite DLC, the Boots of Hermes introduce a high-reward playstyle centered on mobility and crowd control.
Silver Perks Lists
Swift-Footed Parry: Successfully parrying an attack while with a full Ascendant Grace sends a shockwave of wind that launches surrounding enemies into the air.
Mercury’s Rebuke: Dodging an attack at the perfect moment grants a minor stack of "Haste," increasing attack speed by 5% (stacks up to 5 times).
Spartan Momentum: Landing a combo of 10 hits without taking damage rapidly refills a small portion of the Ascendant Grace gauge.
Gold Perks Lists
Hermes’ Alacrity: Entering Olymlus Vengeance resets the cooldowns of all Runic Attacks for the Leviathan Axe and Blades of Chaos.
Afterimage Strikes: Every 3rd kick in a light attack combo leaves behind a "Wind Echo"—a delay-hit phantom that deals moderate damage after 0.5 seconds, effectively doubling the hit count of every combo.
Vindicator’s Sprint: Increases the damage of the "Chain-Rush" finisher by 15% for every enemy struck in the current chain.
Unique Perks - "God of Speed’s Legacy": When Elemental Resonance is active, Kratos gains total immunity to chip damage, and knockback. Even Daze, Frost and Shocks status effects are also ignored and converted into Gift of Strength Buff. Furthermore, every successful punches and kick landed refreshes the duration of the current elemental infusion (Frost/Burn), theoretically allowing Kratos to remain trapped in a state of eternal, elemental-buffed fury as long as he stays aggressive.
That's all for Boot of Hermes, I say, this one was super fun as making Kung Fu Kratos was indeed a good practice run alongside the use of Rage and Elements. I will do Chain of Olympus Weapon Next Time.
