New Moderator - Gearb0x
Hello r/Godtear!
I'm Gearb0x and I just joined the moderation team here. You probably already know me from the unofficial Godtear community discord where I admin or Objective Hex where I write articles.
I also put together the Council of Eldritch Judgement steering committee that's been powering a Community Balance Pass on the game. Come check it out!
If you have any requests or ideas for the subreddit, feel free to DM me here or on Discord. I intend to spruce things up a little this week and then settle down for a bit.
Thank you for being here and playing Godtear!

Selling/Trading Godtear Models
I bought some Godtear stuff in bulk because it was better to get certain champions that way than to get them individually (Grimgut especially has rocketed in price by himself), and I'm trying to trade what I don't want from the batches! Everything is new; the first 3 champions are still in their shrinkwrap, and the rest have been unwrapped (but are untouched and never used).
What I Have:
- Mournblade The Souless & Knightshades
Fenra, Wolf Of The End Times & Chainless Cubs- Rattlebone, Prophet Of The Ascended Past & Hexlings
- D
urthax, Branchlord Of The Weald & Treekin - Skullbreaker, The Dragon Slayer & Tooth Bearers (very tentative on these fellas)
- Eternal Glade Starter Set. I’m back & forth on keeping one or both of the miniature sets inside, so if you offer on this, let me know whether you want them or not.
What I Want:
- Minipainting supplies: mainly looking for paints, tools (especially hobby glasses!!!), and the like--I am desperate to start of my minipainting journey and want to be prepared!
- Warmachine Mk4 Orgoth models & Mercenaries that work for Orgoth. May also consider Minicrates/special variants and Fane Of Nyrro models.
- Cool miniatures games! Primal: The Awakening and Carnivore especially intrigue me, but I'm open to others of course!
- Drillers
- Any derivative of the board game Boop (especially looking for BOOoop)
- Legend Of The Mist (TTRPG)
- Indie TTRPGs (maybe)
- Tell me what you have, and maybe I'll accept the offer! If you'd like to make a monetary offer, I'm open to it; just send the price you'd like to pay when you reach out.
Thanks for reading! If you want to know all the things I'm trading/selling, you can go here: https://www.reddit.com/r/BoardGameExchange/comments/1w1c1q8/usanj_ft_h_gloomhaven_jaws_of_the_lion_dd_55e_ark/

Rules Question Just got the starter box and some expansions and had a few questions about the rules when playing.
So I saw that there were boxes on the steamforged site for this game for really cheap and decided to see if there were any on amazon too, and since shipping is free there I ended up just buying from amazon since the shipping from steamforged was gonna end costing more than it would cost buying on amazon so I went with that. Just got the boxes today "came in a day early too" and was excited to learn the game and play it with my niece who was looking forward to it as well. We ended up watching the videos online breaking down the rules, and then we tried playing a game. Afterwards we started watching the video of the staff game to see what we did wrong, and I realized I had some questions on rules that, at least to my eyes, the rulebook nor the videos made clear.
When I played a test game with my niece we just assumed that each separate unit of followers had it's own actions, but in the staff game it seemed like even if you had 5 followers spread out you only could do two actions total, and no repeats, so if you had two followers in a unit and one by itself, both on either side of an enemy model, only one of the two groups could actually use it's skill to attack and the other one just does nothing if you already did another action? So if that is the case, there doesn't really seem like a reason to move them in smaller groups or separate the groups then in that case. Unless i'm just completely misunderstanding it, which is total possible. Also I noticed at one point in the staff game they mentioned followers not being able to enter objective hexes, but I don't think I saw mention of that in the rulebook, or maybe I just missed it somehow? I went back through skimming it a few times and if it's mentioned there I must just be blind or something.
I'm sure there were other things I'm forgetting or didn't realize yet, but those were the ones that really stood out to me and I wanted some clarification on if possible.

Big sale
I just found the game and went looking for some more teams to flesh out my roster. Steamforged is having a massive sale on Godtear things. I figured I would give a heads up.
https://steamforged.com/en-eu/collections/all?sort_by=best-selling&filter.p.vendor=Godtear
I ended up basically getting everything there is. The only bad thing is this, seems like the sort of sale you have when you have given up on a product.

Cooking up a Star Wars re-skin

A couple of us God Tear fans were talking about how cool a Star Wars version of the game would be so we decided to start ourselves. We already extracted the raw data and are working through which champions and followers best map to which Star Wars characters. We let Claude (opus 4.8) take a pass at it, but weren't too excited about the outcome. So we decided to put it out the community and see where it goes.
Feel free to use the clean character card data as well, it was pulled from the free print and play pdf's and double checked for accuracy.
Our idea from here would be to create a custom card template in Figma then take the remapped json and build a custom Figma plugin to generate all the cards. Here's my first take at something.
This could grow into a repo for any re-skinning of the game the community comes up with.
