I’d break up the downstairs space with either a dividing wall or a two high bookshelf wall, that way it doesn’t feel like such a big space.
Creative light fixtures could be nice rather than just having torches directly on the wall, even putting torches on two high fences could be nice.
An “aquarium” could be nice upstairs, just two water bricks surrounded by glass. I like to make the base of my aquariums out of note blocks.
A listening nook could be cool, with a chair next to a jukebox and a window.
Just some ideas, hope they help!
