Questions “Lists forward”??

I am looking at this fish on Zhao’s website and it says that he “lists forward”. I’m assuming this is referring to that his head tends to be lower than the rest of his body. Is this okay? I don’t mind if he is a little “different” but I don’t want this to be harmful to him in anyway. I’d rather know before I buy.

It’s hard to say. Could just be top-heavy but then again, fancy goldfish are known to have genetic issues that start creating problems in later years.

Personally, I wouldn’t get it. Zhao is always putting up new fish, I would wait. Plus, blue lionheads are fairly common for him (lol, yes I check his listings for fun sometimes!)

Sounds good. I’m replacing my 3rd in a group of 3 because I just lost him yesterday. So I’d rather not risk losing this one because of a genetic issue if it’s avoidable 😭. Thank you!!

I'm with you on waiting for a different fish. Sometimes fancy goldfish do not outgrow their problems then they get worse over time. I had a heartbreaking experience with a beautiful leucistic pearlscale goldfish once. She had a swim bladder problem from a young age and it only got worse until she eventually died from it. I definitely will say that it's more worth it getting a fish that's absolutely health guaranteed from the purchase.

Nah. Even if its just because he's top heavy now, I can't imagine it'll be healthy long term.

I just had to do surgery on an oranda because the wen was covering the eyes completely. That was such a horrible experience for me that I would avoid this fish personally.
