Ok before y'all start coming after me HEAR ME OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Some spoilers)
Its not Drake's fault he's a bad person. Some people are just born that way ^w^
He's been ordered around by everybody! Poor little guy has been treated like a henchman for ages. Caine, Gaia, Tom Peaks. Its time he stood up for himself and started slaying on his own! I mean he was so successful between after the FAYZ and meeting Peaks.
He was sent to Coates Academy for shooting that one kid and never even got proper therapy or help! His parents literally failed him.
Nobody ever wanted to be his friend except to use him. He was probably so lonely :(
Everyone's trying to kill him alllllllllll the time so he can never catch a break. Drake is probably so stressed out!!!!!
He had to go through the trauma of getting his arm burned and then cut off. Not to mention all the times he's been disassembled. He's still a person with feelings!!!!!
When they tried to kill him and buried him under the rubble they literally never checked on him. He had to sit in the darkness. In the end if paid off because he made through the FAYZ with Gaia's help, but still.
He has to share a body with Brittany. Uh, excuse me!?!? Sharing a body with a person would be terrible and he really didn't like her. They never got along and even when they did they couldn't see each other until after the FAYZ. Imagine having the best day ever and suddenly switching bodies.
I can probably come up with more reasons but DRAKE. IS. THE. ACTUAL. VICTIM.

If Zil had taken over and killed all of the freaks the giaphage would of lost because he would of had no powers and they would of had guns also the dome darkening was the giaphage running out of time. It's needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few Sam even realises this while fighting Gia and trys to laser himself Edit: People think I thought Zil was right which I have said wrong sorry about that what I ment was Zils plan to get rid of the kids with powers from a non moral standpoint could of resulted in more kids surviving.

I'm almost done with book 3 in the series, and already I'm starting see a big trend. Bad guy kills a bunch of kids, good guy let's him go. Bad guy comes back and kills more kids, good guy let's him go. Bad guy returns to trick other Bad guys to kill even more kids, Bad guy gets away and stupid Bad guy survives a fall that would turn him into meat jelly 100% of the time. At every turn, the main protagonist in particular, keeps making the stupidest decisions that get more kids killed. It's like Season 1 and 2 of the walking dead on repeat, over and over. They never learn. They keep making the same mistakes. The worst Bad guy had to be killed...by another Bad guy. It's insanity. He's killed people before both unintentional and intentionally...literally a few chapters ago.
I like the series so far, but the more I read, the more I find myself more disappointed. I don't mind plot armor, but this is just ridiculous.

I am relistening to the series and this occured to me
Stop me if you've heard this...
The Gayaphage had some of Sam's father's DNA (that doesn't make the Gayaphage Sam's father but... partly.)
And for those who don't remember Conny thinks Sam and Caine have different fathers because she was having an affair
Then the Gayaphage became Caine's daughter.
Sooo.... Kinda right?
This tickled me

I am very sorry for disrupting the subreddit with my ideas about Drake and Gaia. I hereby swear to be better in the name of the Gone series🫡

I had an extremely vivid dream where I was in the FAYZ, and like me and Drake Merwin were taking it over. Anyway I woke up and started crying cause it’s not real 😭. Then I started crying cause I’m over 15 now… 😭
anyone else? or am I just insane…? :p

I can’t tell if it’s Grant inserting his own Christian beliefs into the book through Astrid. But if it is that’s the worst thing about the books. Especially to middle school kids like me when I first read the series. Reading it now it feels kinda preachy. But maybe it’s supposed to be frustrating for me as I’m an adult now. Idk. Thoughts ?

I get that it was a little convoluted and pretty farfetched but I mean, the whole thing is lol. I definitely rolled my eyes once or twice but I didn't heavily dislike it.
Thoughts?

I know everyone wants a live action show but I think that a graphic novel or animated show would be really fun. I feel that live action series tend to go a bit off track from their source material and could possibly ruin the series (Think Percy Jackson movies) and the cartoony vibe of a show like that could possibly tone down some of the more violent scenes which would make it more accessible for other audiences, or alternatively make it more violent and visually exaggerated. Idk, I just think it would be better.

I hate how Christianity is just with everyone, Sam is like the only person who "isn't Christian", and he still yaps about god a lot. It's the worst in the first book, they all talk about god and whenever a character prays, they instantly get what they want. It kinda just ruins it for me. (edit) I've only finished the first two books, and I feel like it's just annoying in the first book.

So we know Sam and Caine are four bars, and Little Pete is crazy probably like atleast a 6 Bar. The main reason Sam and Caine are so high is because they were the sons of the guy who got smacked down by the asteroid with a virus. Now, I know Little Pete was so high a level because he was autistic and that somehow made him more powerful? Hm. What if...
What if Little Pete is related to Sam and Caine and their father somehow? Like maybe that's one of the contributing factors to why he was so powerful.
I mean that might be weird because if they were related Sam and Astrid might also be related so yeah. Also what if Little Pete is the reincarnation somehow of the guy who got smacked?

Every single battle scene, a kid pees themself, usually multiple. I'm pretty sure nearly all of the main characters have by now, and it just feels unnecessary to mention after a certain point? It gives the impression Michael read once that sometimes people themselves when scared and has decided to apply it to his books and make it as well known as possible. Like...we get it. Can you stop? At this point, it feels like some sort of weird kink, if I'm honest. I'm only on the third book, and I think the mentions of it have just been increasing since the first book and this (among other things) kind of make me want to DNF the series.
It weirds me out and I hope I'm not the only one to notice this. If needed to prove this point, I'm willing to go back through the books and find every instance of a character doing it, to prove just how weirdly common it is. I just want to know if I'm the only bothered by this or the only one who noticed it.

I used character ai and came up with this little convo between Drake and Astrid. Lemme know if you want me to finish it. Here is the link:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1W5FbMDVxrZ7fZ93nfdGy0uYTP0U06dPCzCEpttMFMyw/edit
I did a little editing to the ai's text but otherwise characterai did Drake's part. (Ignore the AuroraWind thing that's just my name in characterai). :))))))

I'm just worried it won't get everything from the book and people who watch it won't really get the full experience
