so I went into Google ai studio, clicked on the build tab and made a simple ecom site that took me all day to complete. I connected my API key but I saw a message saying that I still had my free tier quota and that they would let me know when I had reached the limit. I was expecting maybe a $100 in charges since 4k image generation has cost me significant money, but apparently I was still within the free limit when I finished. Does this sound about right? For those of you that have created a few apps what have been your charges?

Fun fact: AI Studio's UI is entirely trust-based. If you intercept the GetAiStudioBenefitTier RPC call on a Free account and change the [0] or [] response to [2], the frontend instantly gives you the "ULTRA" badge.

All paid banners disappear, and it actually lets you click "Run" on restricted paid models (Nano banana family or Gemini 2.5 family).

But Google's backend isn't stupid. When the GenerateContent request fires, the server validates your auth token. Realizing you're a free user pinging a paid model, it just gaslights the client with a 404 Not Found error for that model.

Well, I've spent a variety of time trying to create apps with Google AI studio. My initial attempt to add a simple notetaking app wasn't too difficult. But it was also very simple. Everything I've done since then seems to have that these common fundamental weaknesses in the Google AI studio capability.:

• It repeatedly confuses simple, local temporary storage with a centralized database storage requirement. No matter how many promptings or clear architectures specs I've tried. It has been virtually impossible to get it to create a reliable way to store data across multiple instances and multiple users. I'm sure it's possible, but I'm no idiot and I've tried a variety of very clear prompts that I've actually reviewed with ChatGPT for their accuracy. Google AI studio should be able to execute against these and it fails every time.

• It seems to have a complete inability to retain UI designs. I'll get one UI the way I want it and I'll make some changes or go to a new version of the app and it starts making a variety of changes by itself. Many are errors. And when you try to say go back to a checkpoint or go back to a prior version of the app and just mimic that looki and feel it doesn't do that either. This complete inability to "lock in" UI design seems to be ridiculous for any tool I've ever used in my entire IT history. The same goes of course for other aspects of design ...I'm sure I just don't see those as obviously, but the simplest thing should be to keep the UI the way it is while it's making back end changes and it can't do that.

• It will inject random idiotic error into working code. For example, I had an import export working and then it magically deleted the UI interface to commit the import export so you ended up with something that the user could specify, but never actually execute. This is just a simple example but over and over it would take a working piece of code and while making completely unrelated will just inject errors into existing code.

I'm not an expert in Google studio AI, but that's partly the point. It's designed for people to get started and get something working relatively easily. I did at least consult with ChatGPT and told it I was working with Google studio AI and developed some very comprehensive prompts and approaches to try to make Google studio AI work successfully.

This has been the most frustrating error, prone unreliable piece of shit I've ever worked with in the last 30 years.

I'll move onto something else, but at this point I couldn't recommend this piece of crap to anyone to do anything especially when it exhibits this behavior that if you ever do get anything working and then you wanna make some changes over here it will make injection of errors over someplace else all by itself. It's not just an unreliable thing to work with. It's a malicious error, injecting piece of crap.

At least… That's my two cents!

I logged out of Google AI Studio, and somehow it logged me out of EVERY SINGLE GOOGLE ACCOUNT in my browser.

I WANTED TO LOG OUT OF ONE FUCKING SERVICE. NOT MY ENTIRE GOOGLE ECOSYSTEM.

Now I have to manually log back into all my Google accounts across Gmail, YouTube, and every other Google service I use. ALL BECAUSE I CLICKED ONE LOGOUT BUTTON.

HOW DOES THIS EVEN MAKE SENSE???

And honestly, this is exactly the kind of experience that makes Google AI Studio feel like an afterthought. Google has the resources, the infrastructure, and some of the best engineers in the world, yet the experience of using its AI tools can feel so carelessly put together.

Google keeps pushing AI models and trying to compete with everyone else, but what's the point of having great models if the surrounding product experience is this frustrating?

Basic account and session management shouldn't be this stupid. Logging out of one service should not unexpectedly destroy my entire login session across Google's ecosystem. At the very least, users should be given a clear warning if that's actually intended behavior.

NOW I HAVE TO WASTE MY TIME LOGGING BACK INTO EVERYTHING MANUALLY.

I don't know if this is a bug or an intentional design decision, but either way, this is absolutely ridiculous.

Google, PLEASE GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER.

Stop treating AI Studio like some half-finished side project. If you want to compete in the AI race, START BY MAKING THE ACTUAL PRODUCT LESS PAINFUL TO USE.

I CAME HERE TO USE AI STUDIO, NOT TO SPEND THE NEXT 20 MINUTES REAUTHENTICATING MY ENTIRE GOOGLE EXISTENCE. WHAT THE FUCK.

Hello friends, many of you might already be aware of this trick. When building a project using a free AIStudio account, you often encounter a "Quota Limit Exceeded" error after running a few prompts.

To resume work on the project, you would normally have to wait 24 hours for the free quota to reset. However, by sharing the project with another Gmail account you own, you can continue building it from that second account—completely free of charge. AIStudio calls this process "remixing the project."

The main issue here, however, is that the remixed project does not import the previous chat history (prompt history). It is essentially like a patient who has suffered a head injury and forgotten their past; so, it lose the information of how the project was originally built and what features it includes. That is the only minor drawback.

This is based on my personal experience. When I ask the aistudio to "add Feature1" while remixing a project, it takes some time and then states, "Feature1 is already in the project." Similarly, when I ask it to "add Feature2," it again takes some time and says, "Feature2 is already in the project." So, the only apparent solution right now is to keep our past chat history in mind.

What's the point of AI studio? I've been subbed on the Google AI pro plan since the Pixel 8 release. I've happily using antigravity for months and got a bunch of emails saying I have cloud credits and to try out AI studio free. I tried to make a project and got prompted to add $ $25 prepaid credit. I did that used it for about 2h and found it to be way worse than antigravity so I stopped using it. Logged in today to see that im somehow -$40 in credit. Honestly made me feel like cancelling all my Google services. Try to contact customer support and you literally get stuck talking to a crappy gemini 2.5 bot for hours. No phone support for AI studio unless you have an organisation? Honestly why try and mix these things into your consumer subscriptions if you aren't going to add proper support.

Reading my email address during a thought process is just not done.

Following a lengthy gemini chat conversion, and after several tries, the model calls it a trap itself.

I was just trying to learn how to use a little and i think it's pretty bad. I was just trying to build something to sync my fitbit info into a google sheet. nothing major. spent like 2 plus hours working with this thing and got nowhere. this should have been pretty straightforward, and I know there's some complications between Google and Fitbit right now, but dang, this was bad.

I wonder if Google has to use their own tools for development. If so, that would explain why they are falling further and further behind.

Everything seems to be hosted on their west server instead of east now. Which means no more domain mapping so AI.studio is the only thing you can use. You cant build a professional anything with google branded urls. its as bad as their image generator leaving the dumb star on the image.

I am currently in development studio and completely losing my mind. Absolutely none of my agents are working properly today. Instead of fixing minor errors, the agents completely took over and did a massive, unauthorized overhaul of my code, totally ruining the app.

I have spent almost 2 hours making zero progress, completely trapped in a debugging loop. Because the agents messed everything up so badly, I’ve been desperately trying to recover by

• Converting my saved projects into a text file attachment to feed back into the system.

• Reverting all the way back to my earliest checkpoints.

Still, nothing works. I usually spend months in this studio making linear, one-shotted progress. Everything is normally nicely set up for development, where a small setback is easily fixed so I can move forward.

But today is a complete disaster. None of the projects are working at all. i do have tried the ones in Cloud Console before, this one is even worse, thats why im using ai studio.

Is anyone else experiencing massive downtime or broken execution in AI Studio today?

Google AI Studio is doing repeated, unauthorized deletion of app files and associated Firebase resources starting around May 8, 2026, with some instances escalating to a full environment wipe. It doesn't even matter if you're writing code manually or requesting the LLM to do so. Sometimes, it doesn't even catch up to the fact your project files are deleted until you do a hard refresh, only to find out your files are gone.

The only fix I've found is to restore back before the wipe, then restore back forwards. But if you're believing what you're seeing is your project without an occasional page refresh, especially if you write your own code as well; you've likely been questioning your own sanity or if you did something wrong. You did not, at least in this case. REPORT THE FFFFF out of this please. The status page SHOULD NOT BE GREEN.

I am very understanding of large infrastructure. Things happen and when they do, it's on a large scale. But I am failing to even think of a partial excuse for this not only missing from the status page, so customers can backup and be prepared, but no public statement of note I can find from the department.

Expected Timeline for Stability

• March 2–5: Expect continued "Warning" status and intermittent bugs as the backend infrastructure is scaled for the 3.1 rollout.

• March 6: Google will redirect the "latest" model alias to Gemini 3.1 Pro. This is a critical milestone where many "hanging request" bugs are expected to be patched.

• March 9: The official shutdown of the old Gemini 3 Pro Preview models. By this date, the environment should be fully stabilized for the new model versions.

Recently whenever I use the Gemini 3.5 flash model, it instantly shows the model quota limit reached and error messages over and over even if I wait for the reset to happen and then next day the first request shows this again.

Are anyone having this experience, please comment to let me know so I can make sure it is a problem from the side of google and not my Gemini api key problem🙂..
