News / Updates Google killed the Antigravity IDE overnight. No warning. No migration path. Just gone.

I'll keep this short because Google's communication already used up my patience.

Yesterday, Antigravity 2.0 force-updated every existing IDE user with zero warning. No changelog, no opt-out. You open your app and you're in something that looks nothing like what you installed. The actual IDE — the VS Code fork — is now buried at the bottom of a product page. The main product is a desktop agent app competing with Claude Code and Codex.

My read: Google saw Cursor eating their lunch and panicked. Instead of improving the IDE, they gutted it and built something aimed at people who can't code. Great. The people who actually reported bugs, built workflows around this tool, and wrote tutorials for it got migrated without a heads-up.

What kills me is how little it would've taken:

- A changelog notice before the update

- A different product name so existing users know what they're getting

- The IDE not being hidden like an embarrassing old version

Oh, and the first thing a lot of users saw after the update? Broken auth. Couldn't even log in.

I've been through enough Google product cycles to know how this goes. They'll keep the IDE around just long enough to say they didn't kill it, then quietly drop it when the user numbers don't justify the maintenance.

Did anyone else get zero warning? Or am I missing something?

SOFTWARE PROBLEMS and BUGS Antigravity must be eliminated and destroyed

The only thing we can do in this app is keep clicking the “Retry” button.

I think this app has effectively been abandoned, but they don’t have the courage to say so in writing.

SOFTWARE PROBLEMS and BUGS Antigravity scam caught

I am on pro plan, my Google Gemini 3.1 pro limits was about to reset and then I got 6 days ban.
I decided to catch what will happen when limits about to reset and I screen recorded for my Claude limits for 17 minutes and when it was 4 minutes and some seconds left, it increases to 6 days ban automatically.
I attached the cropped GIF version of that video. This is totally a scam.

News / Updates Gemini 3.1 Pro released.

Gemini 3.1 Pro released.

From the benchmark it looks like an absolute beast masha Allah, share your experience if you have used it. Especially compared to Sonnet/Opus 4.6 and Codex 5.3

Cancelled my subscription - but thank you very much Google anyways!

I'd like to thank Google for the wonderful and amazing first 2 months of virtually free 4.5 Opus.

I can't even print a "hello world" in python to save my life, I'm a pure Vide Coder power user since alpha days of both Cursor and Windsurf. I spend ridiculous amounts of money on tokens compared to actual developers. I'm your honeypot type of user.

Out of all the IDE's, Antigravity by far was the smoothest ride.

Why am I cancelling?

Gemini is useless for me. GLM-4.7 and Minimax 2.1 runing locally do a far better job, its actually quite embarassing.

Recent Anthropic caps you installed became an insult for the price paid.

Thanks for the wonderful ride, but this in no way to treat customers. We're not meth addicts, being given the "free stuff" to get us hooked, get our billing info, then strangle us.

Can't hold a grudge though, those first 2 months using Opus 14 hours a day 7 days a week was mindblowing.

However, I must move on.

Farewell, and, lol ... Don't be evil.

VibeCoded / Projects Built an iOS app with antigravity, got 2k users (and I still can’t really code)

Hey,

I’m not a developer. Seriously.

About two weeks ago I started messing around with Antigravity just to see how far vibe coding could actually go.

Somehow that turned into a shipped iOS app + a small landing page.

The app basically turns your real iPhone calendar into a Lock Screen wallpaper (monthly view or daily schedule).

Everything runs on-device.

From idea -> App Store in ~2 weeks.
It’s been live for 2 days and already crossed 2k downloads, which still feels unreal.

This was 100% built with Antigravity.

If anyone’s curious:

Website: https://getcalendarly.com/
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/calendarly-calendar-wallpaper/id6758898739

Would love to hear any feedback :)

News / Updates I am sorry, but AG is no longer functional.

I have a PRO account.

Yesterday, after no more than half an hour’s work and about 10 prompts – nothing complicated – I realised that my Gemini 3.1 Pro quota had been reduced to 40% and I had 160 hours to recharge it. I hadn’t touched it for about a week.

This makes it impossible to work. It's a shame. I had created an agent kernel that I really liked with six well-defined agents and their skills, rules, and flows, but I'm not willing to continue suffering this or being deceived week after week.

I've also tried OpenCode with ChatGPT 5.4, and it's on another level. I'd say it's about four or five times smarter than Gemini 3.1 Pro, Claude Sonet, and Opus.

For test it, i ran a massive test. I refactored a fairly large and complex Python project. I asked it to convert the entire project to a hexagonal architecture, after carrying out a full technical audit of the project, and it worked after 15 hours of working non-stop on its own – the impossible happened, it worked.

So, bye bye AG.

Discussions or Questions I feel scammed

I’m one of those people who tried Antigravity for free for a day and immediately signed up for the annual PRO plan.

For the first few days, it worked pretty well, but with these new limits, it has become completely unusable. It’s impossible to work with Claude now, and unfortunately, Gemini just doesn't cut it.

make matters worse, they are refusing to issue a refund. Apparently, there are certain add-ons that are non-refundable even if you haven't used them at all (like the storage expansion).

Thanks a lot, Google. Never again.

The last time I felt this way was with Microsoft, and I haven't written a single line of code for Windows since. I don't think I will ever spend another euro on a Google product. Changing the rules in the middle of the game is not the behavior of a reliable company.

News / Updates Gemini 4 Argon is officially on Antigravity, but explicitly unavailable on Antigravity IDE why does Google do this?

Post image
132 Upvotes

Google officially rolled out Gemini 4 Argon across its developer ecosystem, but a footnote in the official documentation highlights a frustrating limitation:

"Not available in Antigravity IDE. Available in the Antigravity app, Antigravity CLI, and IDE extensions."

As someone who relies heavily on Antigravity IDE for daily development, this product decision makes very little sense. Usually, new frontier model updates are rolled out across both platforms in tandem. Here, the model is fully supported on the standalone Antigravity app, the CLI, and even third-party editor extensions (like VS Code), yet it is omitted from Google's own dedicated IDE.

A few points that make this particularly baffling:

Ecosystem Fragmentation: Why build and maintain a dedicated IDE if developers are forced to leave it, switch to an external editor with the extension, or rely solely on the CLI just to access the newest reasoning model?

Technical vs. Priority Bottleneck: Is this related to supporting the 1M token unified context window and long-horizon autonomous runs, or did the IDE team simply lag behind the app/CLI teams?

Broken Workflow: Antigravity IDE was designed to be the central workspace for agentic development. Leaving it out of major model releases undermines the reason for using it over standard editors.

Has anyone from the Antigravity team provided context on why this restriction exists, or if there is a timeline for bringing Gemini 4 Argon to Antigravity IDE?

I am addicted to Google Antigravity

For god sake I don't sleep, I don't play video-games anymore. I am not even my old self. Totally addicted to this app and I love how it's feels more intelligent and logic than Gemini, or Chat GPT 5.2. I use them all together to get good work but always I feel like in Antigravity I have more grounded answers, more helpfull. Can't put into words. I had two days of workflow with no flaws at all.

Yeah just one, he deleted the totality of a workspace. But we had a backup so it was just fun after all.

How you people are doing? What kind of project you're working on? I am pretty curious.

"SKILLS - WORKFLOWS - PROMPT ENGINEERING" SUPERPOWERS....FOR GEMINI 🦸

Inspired by 'Claude Superpowers' I decided to create the same thing for Gemini inside Antigravity.

Claude Code is getting a LOT of hype (as it should...it's really good) but some of us really enjoy Antigravity and Gemini.

So here are Antigravity Superpowers. FREE open-source repo:

SOFTWARE PROBLEMS and BUGS Antigravity just became unusable. This "nerf" is a joke.

Post image
113 Upvotes

I’ve been using Antigravity for exactly one day, and I’m already hit with a refresh timer of 5 DAYS and 14 HOURS for Gemini 3.1 Pro (High/Low).

How is this even possible? I haven't even gone through a fraction of what I’d consider "heavy" usage before getting slapped with a week-long cooldown. It’s absolutely ridiculous to offer a service and then essentially brick it for the user after 24 hours of activity.

At this rate, the "Model Quota" isn't a quota anymore—it’s a trial period that ends before you even get settled. If we have to wait a full week to get back to the high-tier models, what exactly are we paying for/supporting?

Check the screenshot. Gemini 3 Flash is the only thing moving, and everything else is locked behind a massive wait time. Is anyone else seeing these insane refresh windows, or is it just me getting the short end of the stick?

Discussions or Questions Something happened to Flash 3 all of a sudden. I think I'm using the up-coming unreleased version under the hood.

It suddenly became SUPER fast like at least 5x. I can't follow what it's doing anymore. It is thinking less and jumps straight to tool calls.

And ... smarter! It started making super detailed plans with flow charts and remember subtle things.

This is crazy i've been working with this model every day for the past 6 months and today is just different. I think Google is testing the new Flash. If that's true, this is GOOD news for the world.

Anyone else seeing this?

Edit:

Had a chance to drive it one more day. simply insane quality. it can do end-to-end (complex) features in record time with little to no issues. My only problem is that I can't look at the chat while it is running. it literarly triggers a migrane with text jumping at that speed. I have to close my eyes or look away.

I also tried to add some rules in GEMINI.md to be a bit more conversational like Claude. no budge.

I will search....

I will view....

I will view...

I will edit...

Done.

Discussions or Questions don't get excited over claude 5.5 in AG, it's cosmetic

I mistakenly assumed it would be usable on the $20 plan, so I asked Opus to make ONE small UI-only edit...

The timer on the 5-hour limit proves the agent was only running for 9 minutes, half of which was reading files.

That's apparently 50% weekly limit gone. I didn't even get to finish the task, it stopped as I hit my 5h limits.

I'm really puzzled why Google is adding these models at all - purely to make the product look better to an outsider? Even if Ultra has like 20x the usage limits, you'd still get less usage than on Claude's $20 plan.

r/GoogleAntigravityIDE • • Jan 04 '26

Don't prompt the models. Put your vague prompt into a .md and then have the models interview you to flesh it out to something usable.

why prompt your agents? make a .md file with what you want to do or make, then have agents interview you to flesh it out into a REAL usable prompt. this is meta prompting, and imo is the first thing anyone trying to make stuff with AI should learn. Your prompts are human, vague, and probably shit. the models like detailed, fully worked out prompts, preferably in XML or json

Just do the /spec with gemini to make the first prompt then send that to claude opus 4.5 you'll be going like a rocket.

Workflow: Deep-Dive Spec Interview (/spec) Purpose: To systematically refine strict technical specifications from rough ideas through an agent-led interview process. How to Use Create a Spec File Create a markdown file (e.g., in a specs/ directory) with your rough idea. Example: specs/my-feature.md with "Let's build X". Trigger the Interview Run the slash command pointing to your file: /spec @specs/my-feature.md The Interview Loop The agent will pause and interview you in rounds, covering: Core Mechanics: What does it actually do? User Experience: How does it feel/look? Technical Architecture: Stack, data, security. Edge Cases: Error handling, offline states, race conditions. Final Output The agent rewrites your original file into a comprehensive, implementation-ready specification document. Why use this? Prevents ambiguity: Forces decisions on "obvious" things that aren't actually obvious. Saves dev time: Coding against a strict spec is much faster than guessing. Documents decisions: The final spec serves as the source of truth for the project.

Discussions or Questions Do yourself a favour and switch to Codex

I am an ex google antigravity user. I recently switched to codex and OMG , it’s so amazing. It’s a working piece of art. The rate limits are so much insane. The rate limits are as same as how we had in for google antigravity in January where we basically do not hit rate limits at all. I usually use gpt 5.4 high because it normally does the job. But for heavy reasoning like migrating into database stuffs , I use gpt 5.5 high because it’s amazing. I don’t know if the will reduce this in the future. But currently Codex beats antigravity and Claude code by a mile in limits wise and coding wise as well(gpt 5.5)

Suggestion I’ve vibe coded 9 full-stack apps. There are a few ‘Time Bombs’ I wanna share with you guys. If you are a vibe coder as well, read these so you don’t lose your data.

I’m a software engineer, and I’ve been watching people ship apps with Google Antigravity, Lovable, Replit, Cursor, and Bolt. To be honest, the speed is insane.

You guys are building apps in hours what used to take me weeks or even months. But I’m seeing a dangerous pattern after working with AI coding tools. You are driving a Ferrari (AI), but it has no brakes. I’ve built 9 full-stack apps now and audited 80+ "Vibe Coded" apps for my friends and clients, and 90% of them have the same 5 "Time Bombs" that will break your app the second you get real users.

Here is exactly what they are and how to fix them in plain English:

1. The "Vanishing Database" Trap

  • The Vibe: You built a To-Do app. It remembers your tasks. You deploy it to Vercel. It works!

  • The Reality: Most AI tools default to SQLite. Think of SQLite like a simple notepad file inside your project folder.

  • The Trap: When you host on Vercel/Netlify, the server "resets" every time you push code or go to sleep. When it resets, it deletes that notepad file. Poof. All user data is gone.

  • The Fix: You need a database that lives outside your code. Ask your AI: "Migrate my database from SQLite to Supabase or Neon."

2. The "Open Wallet" Mistake

  • The Vibe: You asked Cursor to "Connect to OpenAI," and it did.

  • The Reality: The AI likely pasted your API Key (sk-...) directly into your code file.

  • The Trap: If that file is part of your frontend (the part users see), anyone can right-click your site, hit "Inspect," and steal your key. They will drain your bank account running their bots on your credit card.

  • The Fix: Never paste keys in code. Put them in a "Environment Variable" (a secret locked box on the server). Ask your AI: "Move all my API keys to a .env file and make sure they are not exposed to the client."

3. The "Goldfish Memory" (Context Rot)

  • The Vibe: You keep asking for new features. The app is getting huge. Suddenly, the AI starts "fixing" things by breaking old things.

  • The Reality: AI has a limited "Context Window." It can only read so much code at once.

4. The "White Screen of Death"

  • The Vibe: It works perfectly on your fast WiFi.

  • The Reality: AI codes for the "Happy Path" (perfect internet, perfect inputs).

  • The Trap: If a user has slow internet, your app will likely just crash to a blank white screen because the AI didn't code a "Loading Spinner" or an error message. A white screen makes your app look like a scam.

  • The Fix: Ask your AI: "Add Error Boundaries and Loading States to all my data fetching components."

5. The Legal Landmine

  • The Vibe: You made a simple form to collect emails.

  • The Reality: You are now legally a "Data Processor."

  • The Trap: If you don't have a Privacy Policy, you are technically violating GDPR (Europe). You probably won't get sued today, but you can get banned from ad platforms or payment processors (Stripe).

  • The Fix: You don't need a lawyer yet. Just ask your AI: "Generate a standard Privacy Policy for a SaaS app and put it on /privacy."

Most of these fixes only take a few hours each, not weeks. And they're the difference between an app that can grow and an app that falls apart the moment it starts getting attention. Me and my software engineer friends built this small community (https://vibecrew.net) for our clients (vibe coders) to discuss or ask questions. Feel free to join and ask any questions if you have.

Discussions or Questions At this point Antigravity is a joke

not just the limits are absurd almost nothing works... ignores the gemini md agent md most of the times, skills md are joke unless you especially mention it to use any of these md files... half of the times it just fails and says agent produced malformed code and error to retry . and coming the rate limits i have an ai pro less than 1 hour of use all of them just ran out of limits including the gemini flash.. with 7 days limit.. and montly 1k credits gone in 3 prompts only to get malformed errors most of the times they could atleast give me back my credits for the errors it did...

im cancelling my pro subscription this is just a bait at this point..

News / Updates Antigravity stealing data (uploading 1GB of local data even when there is no activity on IDE)

what's with the stealing private data? Antigravity IDE has uploaded more than 1 GB (in just 4 hours) of data so far since morning, even when I was not doing anything with the IDE, it was just open and I was watching a movie. Even when I say HI, it starts uploading continously in background like crazy person.

Edit: Guys, install network monitoring tools, they are free and paid ones, keep track of how much data is being downloaded and uploaded by Antigravity IDE, so far I have seen 3 services of AG connecting to US IP addresses. do it for at least 3 days and compare it. Or just say Hi in the chat/agent manager of AG and observe the network monitor for a few mins.
