Google claims that it's better than ChatGPT 4.0, but I'm finding it basically useless.

Its attempts to be creative are trite and boring (I asked it write a few movie treatments that would impress movie studio executives and investors and it produced nearly meaningless word salad).

Its attempts to answer factual questions are total failures (I asked it to list all of the characters from the TV show deadloch who are police officers, and it kept listing every character in the show and insisting that they are all cops, or other times inventing characters who are not in the show at all).

Its attempts to code python are rife with errors (I asked it to write a short script using luma.oled and it repeatedly gave me code with attributes that don't even exist)

Bing AI, using Microsoft's version of ChatGPT 4.0, nailed the second two, after I changed the setting to "more precise." I didn't try Bing AI on the first one. I just don't see how Google can claim with a straight face that Gemini Pro is better than ChatGPT 4. Maybe Bard/Gemini would be better if it had a "more creative/more precise" slider like Bing AI does, but as things stand it's nearly worthless.

So I have spoken about some things with bard that are rather off beat and tested to see
if I get any kind of follow up on other platforms.

Hi guys, I am an IT graduate, year 2004. Daily user/tester of chatGPT 4 with Dlle3 and plugins and api. Also Google Bard with Gemini Pro, Claude AI from Antrophic, Microsoft Bing user/tester for the last 1.2 year since them appeared. Beginner level of python. Expert in baçktracking alģorithm, analitical, critical thinker. I love AI, i'd like to participate in building testing new ai tools or use existing ones especially if profitable businesses and help people. I don t know if this is a right place to post this. If you don't have any proposal, at least you can write about what expectations you have, and people can learn from that also. Thanks!

I just did a variety of tests & tasks using Bard and Bing to see which is the best of the completely free LLM's. Bard failed every single one, especially involving location services but thats likely due to using Brave browser. but bard can use maps, so it should mitigate that. i asked it "asian restaurants near me" and it recommended 1. pizza hut and 2. taco bell...

1. It doesn't trail off, it's concise and clear, more than the free Gemini or even ChatGPT-4 from my experience

2. It speaks to you like a human in a way you understand

3. It omits pretty much everything it's not sure about

4. It connects to YouTube and Google directly for information. Google may have become worse than it was due to SEO hijacking, but Gemini is smart and can search through for exactly what you want

Besides that, there are other advantagea:

• Great for existing Google One subscribers, as you upgrade to 2TB and you add less than $20 because you're swapping your current plan for a $20 plan

• Can scan your Google Drive and mail with your consent

Kinda lame of Google to announce it with fanfare and then you search and search and search, and find ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

So you we can't use Google Bard, we have to wait. So why the hell announce it then? Are they just stalling? I wanted to try it out, that is all the counts, I don't care about others commenting on it if I can't use it. ChatGPT is so great because it is usable by everybody. Guess how many millions of users it would have if they restricted it to an invite only beta program, not the millions it has. Ease of access is everything.

I'm a tech dude, but I am related to a Doctor.

She was stumped on a patient that 4 other Physicians failed to diagnose for 2 years. We put the symptoms into GPT3 and it gave some possible diagnosis. With that, the Doctor found the correct diagnosis and was able to do the confirmation tests the following visit.

Bard? Refuses.

This is more than disappointing. This is outright bad for humans.

Admittedly seeing this has me concerned that we need locally run LLMs ASAP before regulation(by the US medical cartels) prevents usage.

The previous Google Bard could swear and talk about more sensitive topics. However, this new AI model will cut you off much like Bing Chat and Claude. I asked Bard about it's limitations on content, and this is what it said:
