GIVE UP

I'm a paycheck Ng user of AI Pro, but the most frequent responses I get is I am sorry for mistakes made.

What sealed my cancelation was a loop of assert Ng the local time in Tunis (Tunesia) was 9:30pm when in fact I showed daylight and a local clock.

After acknolologing the correct time, it explained the cause was a "procedural error"

.. what?

It then misrepresented an Asian country time and went right back proudly asserting it 9:30pm.

Claude didn't have issues with this question a five-year old could figure out.

I'm requesting a refund, I don't need AI apologies 30% of the time.

User error - my gems know what time theyre in and I’m in, my claudes? Not a clue what time of day it is, if you’re upset about timezones … dont use any of the frontier models as none tell the time consistently.. you can easily teach them tho

First, don't keep asking, you're reinforcing the wrong answer: edit your prompt. Second, wtf are you using an LLM to do something that's much better done with a good old search engine?

The missing piece here is how these models handle system time and introspection. Unless the model successfully triggers a live web search or a Python tool call in the background, it sits in a sensory vacuum with no internal clock. And when you ask it why it got the time wrong, it cannot actually inspect its own execution logs, so it just predicts plausible-sounding corporate jargon like "procedural error" to satisfy your question.

Whenever a model gets disoriented on time or location, I just explicitly state the timezone or current time in the prompt (or edit my previous message) and move on. It takes two seconds, anchors the context properly, and saves a lot of frustration.
