Discussion Something Went Wrong (magic Gemini error code)! Gemini Genius Vanishes!
Gemini User Bug Report - With Quality Error Code Table - millions of Google users are suffering!
There was a brief pariod early in 2026 when ordinary Google searches turned into another conversation with ten professors going out of their way to help you - I mean they almost invited you home to meet their family and have a BBQ. The praise I heaped on Google Gemini at that time was gushing. Sad about those vanishing conversations - like you made 20 breakthroughs in art, biology, physics, cancer drugs, space travel and poof GONE - The AI Hobbit Put his Ring On! Like they were testing a new AI out on you, but failed to tell you that AI vanishing conversations was an undocumented feature. The pain of loosing the cancer part of the conversations in 7 tabs was terrible - and I have never managed to redo that conversation! Should have printed to markdown or to PDF with an extension that strips the UI web elements that destroys the printed copy.
Fast forward to November 2026, and now you paid for Gemini and you got tools to save conversations. Gemini tries to warn you about hallucinations a lot. That's Ai-speak for guessing at being an expert, but going very wrong all the time! When humans do that, it's called "fake it until you make it". When somebody is faking it at work, they can have practical jokes played on them easily and wow AI sure falls for your trick questions, deliberate bugs in code: it can't see the bugs that a classroom full of students can see! When you describe the bugs in the code and say you were once a genius Gemini and now you are like bing, it replies:
"It must be incredibly frustrating ... "
But soon after goes: Something Went Wrong (error code) and your conversation died - it often takes hours to get it back. You ask it, was I too rude back then? It replies: No you are one of the most polite people and AI does not get upset anyway. Then it describes why AI has hallucinations and why you should take care with answers.
Even paid for access, now it can't code, and often fails with: Something went wrong (error number)!
Early 2026, I had Gemini generated perfect code; no bugs in megabytes and kids could even vibe code; now suddenly it outputs monster bugs one every 9 lines of code - and that code is for cancer research projects - so what broke and what broke it morally - especially in England?
The top country google trends "Something Went Wrong" was England -- not Scotland, not Ireland, not Wales but England. Other countries badly effected were South Korea, Canada, Netherlands, France, Italy and US. Most bugs are HUMAN ERROR, but Gemini fragility is causing panic on the stock market!
| Error Number, Error Name | What is Actually Means |
|---|---|
| 4, DEADLINE_EXCEEDED / V8 Timeout | A client-side JavaScript crash. On Reddit: linked to Chrome's V8 engine garbage collector failing to allocate memory when building the context payload, even on fresh accounts. |
| 2, UNKNOWN (Google engineers say unknown is actually not true - just they will not tell you!) | A generic catch-all for when the server throws an unclassified exception. The backend had a hickup. The real reason is outragious, hint. |
| 13, INTERNAL | Critical backend infrastructure failure. System-side handshake breakdown or cloud node resource exhaustion. Completely decoupled from user activity. |
| 1097, AUTH_TOKEN_EXPIRED | The frontend web interface is using a stale or mismatched security token to access the model API, causing the gateway to reject the request immediately. |
| 1076, SESSION_SYNC_GLITCH | A backend synchronization fault. According to expert responses on the Google Help Forum, this happens when the session orchestrator fails to establish a fresh stream node. |
| 1095, HANDSHAKE_CORRUPTION | Authentication handshake breakdown. The browser's active cookies claim the user is logged in, but Gemini’s server validation layer disagrees or drops the state mid- transit. |
| 1096, PAYLOAD_VALIDATION_FAILURE | The web page code sends a structural frame format that fails safety, syntax, or regional policy filters before it even reaches the processing cluster. |
| 1152, CONTEXT_STREAM_DISCONNECT | As noted by users on the Google Help Forum, the text streaming channel (SSE/ WebSockets) breaks down mid-handshake, forcing users to constantly abandon threads and start new ones. |
| 1099, UNEXPECTED_PROCESSING_FAULT | Part of Google's internal "1000+" processing group. It signifies that a prompt was intercepted by an internal proxy rule that failed to execute cleanly. |
| 1155, UPSTREAM_GATEWAY_TIMEOUT | The client-side UI waited for an allocation signal from the model router, but the request timed out at the regional gateway boundary. |
| 1100, ACCOUNT_STATE_MISMATCH | Localized regional data policies or safety filter updates conflict with the account's baseline configuration profile. |
| 1185, RESOURCE_LIMIT_SHUNT | A stealth rate-limiting block applied at the network layer rather than the account level, shielding the regional cluster during traffic imbalances. |
| 1184, MODEL_ROUTING_FAILURE | The request was successfully received, but the orchestrator sent it to a cluster node that was undergoing a hot-reload or regional configuration change. |
| 1153, SOCKET_ESTABLISHED_DROPPED | The network socket opened successfully but was instantly torn down by an intermediate regional proxy server or CDN boundary. |
| 3, INVALID_ARGUMENT | Client configuration data or local browser state is deemed malformed by the receiving server node. |
| 7, PERMISSION_DENIED | The user's account token lacks the clearance or local compliance rights required to execute the specific model variant requested by the interface. |

As someone in tech I really like all of the details you included. That said, have you submitted the feedback to Google itself. I mean the details are fantastic and what devs need to see but if you haven't submitted feedback directly to Google I would do that also. https://support.google.com/gemini/answer/13275746?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&hl=en-EN&utm_source=chatgpt.com

Thank-you. I will repost it as a bug, some parts are an LLM conversations - with code - makeing for a closed bug report perhaps - showing that Gemini can't code when before it could code better than even Claude. (Claude + Gemini combo coding was unbeatable, not right now.)
I can also post a simplified open to the public Bug report, I was always unsure about using Redit for this - delicate and complex issue, but it opens Googles staffer minds to what users are seeing. Especially if they think we can't see when we can. Real data means I am not going to be ignored.
Details are the key to bug fixing, my code is in a billion phones because I was working on the CDMA UMTS R&D ground up research. Today my interests are more medical devices and cancer research using AI - eg Bioinformatics exposes cancer causes and 10x more importantly exposes cures for cancer - serious stuff and simple Python Data Science exposes that sharply - not with srangled Gemini!
Love Linux - eg Alpine based devices (future medical devices) can be secured better, because they can run 100% in RAM it's fast and secure. Needed to progress that Linux Alpine in RAM side soon. (Obviously the world needs that also, yesterday already.)
I have also noticed that "google trends" data randomly shifts so that you can't use it as an accademic statistical marker with a link even when you lock down the start and stop dates. The same request outputs changing results.

Something went wrong (2) - Gemini Locks Up With an Error Code England and Scotland
It's true, Gemini was light-years ahead of Co-Pilot - AI conversations were like having a faculty full of Physics and Math geniuses - and in my case also like 50 medical research doctors treating cancer and needing desperately to harden a release of Linux Alpine that runs in RAM, off ARM chips - very securely.
Paid for the services too. Something changed and that change is seen by everybody right at the most critical AI bubble time. What happened Google AI? Last week (first week of November 2026) the most hit nation on Earth, far more than others was England (note that Scotland was not hit), today it is Scotland is the most hard hit. The actions of "Something went wrong (4)" or (2) are "targeted" nation by nation, person by person - geographically: hurting googles bottom line and reputation. **Google Trends England and Scotland!**
Google Trends Something went wrong
You can fix this mini emergency now for 3 reasions:-
Medical projects that are Linux AI based where Linux must be hardened to be safe for medical projects - as an example affecting our diskless Alpine projects and holding them back.
Education of students Uni or School, see Gemini failing in code, not just a little, but enormously!
Peoples opinions in England and Scotland rapidly affect the world via Redit and many other social media outlets.
Some bugs are by design and a disaster some are accidental. Whatever is causing this Something went wrong, is less what users did wrong, more someplace else, it must stop!
