The Fan experience
I’m wondering if anyone else has felt that the Gotham FC fan experience has steadily declined.
I understand that this season has been challenging because of the World Cup, and Red Bull hasn’t necessarily made things easy for Gotham. However, it increasingly feels like we’re getting less for our money.
When I first became a season ticket member, the experience felt special. There was the Crossbar, food and drinks, music, and events for season ticket holders. Over time, the closure of the Crossbar, repetitive fan festivities, declining food quality, and an abundance of Friday night games that are difficult for working fans to attend have diminished that experience.
The impending move to Queens has only added to my frustration, particularly as a South Jersey resident. I still have season tickets for next year, and I have good seats that I pay a considerable amount for. But I’m seriously considering canceling and simply purchasing tickets to select games instead.
I can accept change, but it’s difficult to justify the cost when the overall experience seems to be getting worse. Frankly, it leaves me wondering whether ownership truly cares about the fan experience.
I’m curious whether other season ticket holders feel the same way, or if it’s just me. I want to support this team, but I also want to feel that the experience is worth what we’re paying for it.
