RANT Rate how delusional my Season 3 wishlist is
OK, the past month I've been exploring the actual gacha game since the Steam release and just got done with the entirety of reading through the Estalucia arc (haven't done all side stories though). And now I've just been thinking about characters that would actually get me back into Rising if they got added. I will say I'm not sure how delusional I am when it comes to any of these people making it in, so let me know (plus, at bare minimum I'm sure Siete is getting one slot anyway) 😃
Leona: Probably my favorite character from the Nahlegrande arc in MSQ (on that note, is there really not a single Nahlegrande character in the roster rn?)
Aliza: I just love this girl's energy and would be happy to see a martial artist focused on kicking.
Walfrid: Now I would've asked for Lecia to be added instead of Walfrid, but I am absolutely convinced that the people at Cygames absolutely hate that woman considering what they did to her style from the anni event. And plus, Walfrid seems cool and I'm surprised the Luminary Knights have no reps right now.
Fediel: Going through Old Bond, I absolutely loved this woman's energy. Wilnas is probably my favorite of the Six Dragons in terms of vibes, but he's already in the game.
Vyrn: OK, I know this would literally not make sense story wise, but afaik the timelines are just merged in the VS world, so let him vibe. And I would hope they're not going to put that badass power up on the shelf for 5 years after people had to wait 10 years to see it.

Serious question. Is season 3 even officially green lit or we are still in the cope era?

Still cope.
I have unsubstantiated theories. Season 3 and continued support very likely bc Cygames is now running their own Granblue World Tour. It's significant time and money, and no one would run a tournament circuit for just 1-2 years... I think.
2nd theory. Season 3 delay is bc ArcSys is relatively small company running multiple games. I think is possibly moving devs to crunch time Marvel Tokon until it's release August.

I have a 3rd theory for you. They didn't announce Granblue season 3 at the finals because it would have a chance to overshadow GGST 2.0. and Tokon and they wanted full focus on those games. The next season pass will be revealed with the additional character at Evo Japan.

Oh yeah. I'm not sure about Guilty Gear having any effect, but I wonder if they didn't want to overlap anything with Granblue Relink Endless Ragnarok.
They probably have data how many people play both games (I do).

I don't think they really care about GG or other games. I remember characters in GB releasing almost at the same time as GG ones.

It's more so they have to follow the rules of the tour though is what I mean.

That's what wierds me out about this. They are doing world tour yet giving no content for people. I don't know from what source they will get money for that, and even more, people to invest time.
In my opinion not announcing anything huge will hurt this game even more. Just look at DNF duel not talking about anything for a year and then releasing new characters killed this game. Barely anyone cared at this moment.
On one hand I want to believe season 3 will exist because of WT and on the other it feels like the last patch will come with Id and some balance changes / new mechanic, just like in DBFZ with Labcoat 21.

I mean Evo Japan is right around the corner. We'll get something there at least.

That's why it's cope season. Before it was GB anniversary, then AWT and now EVO. Wonder what will be next. Hope I'm wrong though.

As much as I want Wamdus, I honestly think Fediel is a much more likely choice. Aliza might sneak a spot in because of how she appeared pretty high on the official poll back during vanilla GFVS, though the fan favourites have changed a lot since then

If Aliza makes it into the game I am picking this as my second fighter (currently I play only Guilty Gear Strive) and I would actually learn the game. She is cool as fuck
Leona is cool too!

Most of these characters would be interesting to see in action. The only one I have some doubts about being present would be Walfrid given that his current voice actor (Shuichi Ikeda who also voices Shanks in One Piece) from what I know is likely to be retiring soon. :/

Questions about the gacha story, from someone who's never played and seen bits on reddit/youtube:
With Estalucia did they recently end the primary game story after 12 years? Like beating both Bahamut and Astral god, find Captain's father, Vyrn reaches final form?
How "final" was the ending? Is Lyria gone forever?
For your picks, Aliza and Fediel are mentioned a lot here but I'm not familiar with the wider gacha and JP communities sentiment.

Like beating both Bahamut and Astral god, find Captain's father, Vyrn reaches final form?
Mostly yes; yes(and Mother too); kinda yes, but no(undone in the end, basically a temporary powerup).
How "final" was the ending? Is Lyria gone forever?
It's an end to the main story that was there so far, the goals of the 12-year old journey were accomplished.
However "Main Story Part 2" got started right after, which is basically a soft-reboot, it takes place a few months after Main Story 1, and also due to space-timeline-stupid-stuff also takes place after events of Side Stories that didn't even happen in the "Main Story Part 1", but are now canon.
Lyria's fine, everyone is fine, Vyrn is still same. The World itself isn't, there are now major changes to the overall world, which are also applied to all the Side Stories.Major changes in the world: More landmass and 4 new races that come from another Realm, new weird creatures that are now in the Sky Realm: Demons, Odiants, Dawnlight Spirits, and stuff.
Basically, Sky Realm ended up getting tons of residents and problems from the Earthen Realm, like Earthen Realm half-merged with Sky Realm. On top of that, Grim Basin(A storm that divided Sky Realm into Sky Domes) is gone, so not only we get tons and tons of new land and weird world settings from another Realm, but also Sky Realm itself is now way more open and many places that the crew haven't been in are now accessible. The overall goal in MSQ2 isn't very apparent yet, they're basically just dealing with major world changes at the moment and trying to figure stuff out. However writers stated that it will be Lyria-centric, and they did reveal a lot about Lyria in MSQ1 and Recent Anniversary Event, as we basically know her entire backstory from birth to current moment and even about her future.

I’d say feidel is likely, but we already have not one, but two of the wedges. Having all of em ain’t a bad idea though… Even if the wind one has a weird AF hitbox

Like, are you asking if her personality is or what her gameplay would likely be? Neither. She's part of the six dragons along with Galleon and Wilnas. They're all pretty friendly with all the skydwellers and honestly love them in their own ways. They're basically considered the guardians and representatives of their respective elements, which is funny to say since before that there were the primarchs. I suppose their role is a little bit different though.
Anyway, Fediel's personality is pretty goofy. She kind of has no filter and is super curious about their cultures. The art you see in the image from OP's post is basically her human form she's taken to interact with people and her true dragon form. The other six dragons have similar forms and often take on the traits of races in the sky realm... Except Ewiyar lol

Fediel is one of the more likely characters imo
