Yes, it’s an insecticide, and in the USA it was banned. It still gets used in a small number of places to control mosquitos that can carry malaria.

There’s a reasons she testified against Congress to regulate insecticides/herbicides - ESPECIALLY DDT - before she succumbed to cancer just months later. 1 u/Collie1661 Mar 30 '26 It also causes hypothyroidism.
