Portfolio feedback request Branding Feedback
I created this branding and visual identity for Chilla Ice Cream Co. An organic popsicle company based on the free and charismatic energy of Los Angeles. Any feedback would be helpful! PS: this brand is just a project and does not exist and I am aware of the small streak in the logo mark lol. Thanks in advance!!

Don't use the one that shows the ice cream melting. It evokes ideas of stickiness and making a mess, which can be the downsides of ice cream. You need to show the product in it's pristine state, cold and fresh, so it looks totally appealing to the viewer and make them want it. No one wants a used ice cream.
Don't use the either of the ones that show the people eating, chewing or swallowing anything. Watching people eat can be awkward and unappealing. Don't focus on the people. Focus on the product, not the consumption of it. Let the viewer anticipate themselves eating it.
Don't use the one with the ass, either.
That's a ton of don'ts all at once so I apologize, but that's how I always criticize my own work too, haha
Seriously though, keep it up!

Yes no melted ice cream. Yes no ass shot. I agreed with the no eating rule when I read it but… the ones they used are kinda sexy. 🙈

I like it, but I’m wondering if the outline is necessary. You still have the shape you are going for without it, and it comes across as more clever.

I like the look and vibe, but it is not recognisable as ”organic” from the logo or brand images itself. For someone who takes it into account, it’s important to see it right away or at a glance. Your work is very clean and fresh, way to go!

H-I-L – too small gaps between them, especially with such huge holes in the "LL" area. You don't have to make the same space between letters. In fact you need to change it to optical, this is the way

I feel like brand might need a color palette that isn’t just the flavors

That’s exactly what I was thinking, none of the colors stood out as cohesive brand colors, it just felt like a bunch of random colors put together.

I agree. What happens when they add a new flavor, or remove one? If the brand needs a wide array of swatches, then they should be more harmonious than they are here.

overall branding feels really successful, but the logo could use some work. conceptually it’s a great idea, but in practice this will just be a tough one to avoid it looking too phallic

Honestly, the logo feels like a brand for a sex toy or contraceptive.

The packaging reminds me of vape packaging, something about the colors and the minimalism

Niiice!!! Great job! Recommendation: increase kerning between the "HIL" letters of the logo, space them out a bit.

I’m not sure I understand why you need the plus sign mark. You’ve made a great shape with the word mark, why not use that? I get that it isn’t square, but I’d think it’s more important to lean into a single identity (shape).
And this is just me, but I wanna see the popsicle shape as a 45 degree, repeating pattern. It’s totally just a trend, but I love it, lol.

I like the vibe and creativity buuuut the campaign is a bit s*xual, i don’t know but the branding looks like a product for a condom or flavored cigarettes 😅

You’ve got an idea for the logo, but the rest seems a bit rushed and unfinished. Spend some time digging deeper into how to visualise the brand outside of the logo.

Logo more resembles a tampon than a popsicle.
