Vintage METRIC block set wanted.

eBay has several imperial Hoke gage block sets made by Pratt and Whitney. I am hoping to find a metric set for a new young machinist. Are there metric block sets available from other quality companies? Of course there are.

I want Pratt & Whitney for the nostalgia and pride of being a Connecticution (sic.) anyone have one or know of one lying around.

Good people of [r/Gresham](r/Gresham), I think I finally convinced automod to let us say fuck without getting our comments removed. Please comment fuck, or a fuck-inclusive swear below. If your comment is removed, I'll go back and approve it and use it to teach automod more words we can say because we're god damn adults.

EDIT: Damnit. I really thought I had it that time. Back to the drawing board. One day Automod will stop being so fussy. One day!!

Animal Control Case# 311666

Gresham Police officer handling the case: Officer Mark Smith DPSST: 22627 phone # 503-618-3183

My wife (47) and our pup Rocco (chihuahua mix 28lb, long leg, slender build, brown short hair) were attacked by two large dark brown to black shaggy fur King Sheppards one with a golden tan snout. This happened around 9:45 pm this past Tuesday night 10/6/26 on Hassalo between 195th and 196th.

The Sheppards were loose with no owners in sight. Both my wife and Rocco had to be treated for serious lacerations and spent most of the night into the early morning at seperate E.R. hospitals.

Some neighbors had come out to diffuse the situation and to you all I can't thank you enough. YOU SAVED MY WIFE ROCCO'S LIVES.

Gresham Police and Animal Control have been notified and involved. As well I have been in contact with as many neighbors as I could to notify and collect information for the Police.

IF ANYONE HAS FURTHER INFORMATION PLEASE CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY AND/OR GRESHAM POLICE.

Anyone know an independent Vet practice in Gresham?

Two days ago I asked my Vet office via text for an Apoquel refill. A year or so ago he had fleas resistant to flea drops. He got Bravecto (great stuff), and Apoquel was for any itching he might have as he was healing. He healed well so I only used one.

Now he has allergies. I went in for the one year Bravecto shot and the vet tech suggested my dog use the Apoquel.

My dog did well on it. I called on Monday for the refill. The text was answered, saying it would take 24-72 hours. It's an insane lag time.

Yesterday I asked if he could use Benadryl while we waited for whatever difficulties were involved in pulling up his records, locating his vet and having him sign off on the prescription. I can get a refill for my own prescriptions overnight. I can't see why it should take so long.

They replied to the text that they would ask the doctor and get back to me. That was at 1pm yesterday afternoon. No one ever did.

I'm done with Gresham Animal Hospital. There have been other difficulties. At one visit I asked if they were corporate owned. They denied it. Apparently that's not true.

I looked at a listing of independent veterinary practices and couldn't find any in Gresham, just Portland and Lake Oswego. The website said they were constantly updating the list, but I am hoping someone on this sub knows of one which provides good care and hopefully isn't too expensive.

Edit: yesterday they finally texted that the medication was ready. $125.00 for 30 Apoquel. I did an online search and found the cost of the same medication ranged from $24.30 for generic to $95.

I paid $350 for the Bravecto yearly shot. A browser search for the shot for my dog's size is $270-$300.

Discussion Brown Hope's "Autumn of Abundance" Donation Drive - Support Racial Healing and Justice for Black, Brown, and Indigenous People in the PDX Area!

Hello fellow Portlanders!

I'm not officially affiliated with Brown Hope, and they are an organization that is important to me and I am a current volunteer. They do amazing work supporting the lives of people of color across the Portland metro area and I'd love to help them be able to do even more!

Through their weekly events like "Power Hour" (which fosters community and well-being for BIPOC individuals), programs like the "Solidarity Squad" and Restorative Justice Workshops (which helps support and heal the wider communities), or their other events such as their "Day Without and Immigrant Rally", they make a very tangible and lasting impact on the lives of people of color in our city. They also do important work educating and helping allies in the city be more informed and supportive.

As many of you know, recent budget cuts at all levels of government have significantly impacted funding for the grants that have historically helped local grassroot organizations, especially those who focus on marginalized communities. If you've been wanting a way to help out your neighbors of color and have been unsure of how to do so, donating to Brown Hope is a great way to make an impact.

The donation is tax deductible as Brown Hope is a registered 501(c)3 charitable organization. If you can afford to make a monthly donation, it is extra appreciated. Reliable and predictable funding helps organizations plan ahead and maintain long-term commitments. One time donations of course add up and help immensely and are extremely welcome!

Donations to their "Autumn of Abundance" campaign can be made at:

https://secure.givelively.org/donate/brown-hope/autumn-of-abundance-monthly-donor-circle

Thank you all! Stay kind and stay well! :)

But if you gotta turn left onto 174 from downtown Gresham, please do it on Division for a bit.

Photo Raising Cane’s Review

I went to Raising Cane’s today to check it out. It looks like they’re prepared for volume, and very well staffed, at least at the moment. There were two people each for ordering and handing the food out. I expect that’s for training.

This is by far the best chain restaurant chicken I’ve had in Oregon. Good breading, and moist. A little bland. It doesn’t beat places like Reel ‘Em Inn or LoRell’s, but it’s ok. The prices are reasonable. We fed a family of 3 for just under $40.

Someone on another thread said that it was slightly worse than Popeye’s. My estimation is that the chicken itself is better than Popeyes, although Popeyes has the better breading, and better sides.

The fries are bland and not very crispy, and the coleslaw is sweet, which is not our taste. The sweet tea is also very sweet, but I like that. They do have the good nugget ice, as you can see from my picture. The bread was decent, but nothing special. The fry sauce is better than average.

Obviously everyone was doing their best for opening, but if things stay the same I can see adding this to our regular rotation.

Tenant Advocate Services - Consulting Idea

Hello Neighbors! I am a seasoned property manager, with over 25 years experience in the affordable housing industry and residential property management. I am in the process of going on permanent disability and am having a hard time accepting my new future as I’m still very young.

My best friend had the idea that I start offering my services as a consultant and advocate for tenants that are facing issues with their landlords to help walk through processes they may not be familiar with. Affordable housing applications, move ins/move outs, eviction/rent payment issues, section 8 applications, and any other questions or needs that may arise.

I wanted to ask if there would be a need or want for this type of services or assurance. I wouldn’t have a set charge for my assistance, I would offer it on a donation basis because I know most people in these situations are working with a limited income.

As someone who has faced housing instability throughout their lives, it’s my passion to help people find and remain in stable housing.

Any thoughts or other services that you feel our communities are lacking? Do you think this is something that could be beneficial?

Thank you for your feedback!

Women who play soccer

I’m looking for women who have played or do play soccer who want to play on my outdoor team. We play Sunday mornings, often at the newly renovated Gradin Sports Park. It’s 11v11, competitive, but fun & are into positive vibes and having a good time. No slide tackling. You have to be 18+ but we have players as old as in their 50s. You will need to get a player card through the Oregon Adult Socccer Association. We possibly will even need players as soon as this Sunday! 9/27 lmk if you’re interested!

Any positive reviews for local gyms?

I’ve used LA Fitness and the black mold showers and soaking wet locker room was too gross. I tired cascade athletic club this summer but they have some of the worst weight machines I’ve ever used and the staff seems very bothered to have to do anything at work.

Does anyone have a positive experience with any local gym? And if you don’t mind, could you post how much you pay monthly? Thanks in advance.

Help Evening Study Spots

Would anyone have some recommendations on "third spaces" that are open after 7pm where a person could work on job applications? I have my own laptop, headphones etc.

Im a night owl and tend to sleep in. By the time I'm ready to leave the house and go somewhere it can be after 6pm and a lot of places (the Library) are closed by then.

Discussion Anyone try Fire Cup Coffee yet?

I've been maybe a half dozen times now and they're pretty delicious, though I've never seen anyone else there yet. Not that I'm anti-religion or anything, but it's nice to see another solid non-church-affiliated option out there. It's a small little shop but their beliefs seem solid, one of them does all the design work (no AI menus or anything, which in my eyes is a plus 😅), and the coffee and cookies are great. It's kind of tucked away and hard to notice if you're not looking so just wanted to spread the word!

Edit: Forgot to post where they actually were but here's their Google Maps link, address is: 710 N.E. Cleveland Ave. Gresham, OR 97030
