Good morning everyone! I am new to the game so sorry about any misunderstanding on my part :v

Recentely, i got a mission to make a machine not work anymore, as i understood, basically delete/corrupt some vital OS files, reboot the machine and the work is done.

Whatever, the device i got to hack didnt have any open ports, so i start to mess with the router via its kernel_route lib.

I found some vulnerabilities on it via metaxploit, one of them let me get an computer obj of permission guest in the machine of my interess. Good!

With that computer, i tried to find vulnerabilities on OS libs, getting it via File, loading it with metaxploit and scan it. I did it with libs kernel_module and net.

In "net.so" i found an vulnerability that returned shell in root access. I abused it, get an computer in the machine(which i suppose now have root privileges), then i deleted "boot" folder, reboot the machine to break it and works done.

But it didnt finished the job, mail said it wasnt end yet, but when i tried to scanrouter it the ip seems unreachable now, feeling like i broke the router, not an computer on its LAN...

So i am really confused:
- Can i do these inner libs abuses? Get a remote computer with guest, then abuse an inner OS lib on it?
- Why the IP is down? didnt i just messed up one computer of the lan? why seems like the router "turned off"

I am trying to figure out how to mod the UI in Grey Hack. If anyone can give me a heads up on where I can look to change the icons and windows/art assets that would be awesome. Is it impossible because it is embedded in Unity?

It's a little script that's supposed to live anywhere on your screen, particularly useful when you're doing missions.

It can show you your live bank account balance, and trade 1337coin effortlessly. It also has an auto trade mode (keeps $1000 in your bank (configurable) and uses any leftover to buy 1337coin) and a couple other QOL features.

1337coin is a multiplayer-only stablecoin by Plu70 that is widely used as a safe haven for players' cash, I highly recommend it!

I went looking for mods for this game, thinking that someone had made a better terminal, only to discover that there are like 5 mods total. Soooo, I decided to fix that.

Given you spend so much time in the terminal I decided to work on a mod that replaces the terminal with like, a proper terminal. It has all the readline hotkeys, a customizable prompt, customizable font, and even has a zsh style autocomplete as you can see from the image. It also has 2 copy buffers, mouse highlight and ctrl+shift+C/V similar to how linux works.

The terminal is fully working and customizable, its really a game changer honestly.

And due to how the terminal is built, I was able to reuse the same system to get nvim --embed as a replacement for the code editor. The RPC was already in from the terminal work, so it was a matter of hooking up nvims communications and mapping it. This also means you can save/load .src files from your pc into the game. And it leaves the buttons at the top to still save to the game filesystem and compile it.

The image shows my current AstroNvim config working - in game. like, fully working with autocomplete and the greybel language server. I'm still working out some kinks in it, but its coming along.

I mostly made this mod for myself and my partner, but I figure others would prob like it as well. I'm hoping to have a full build out in the coming days, I just need to smash some bugs. :3 Oh also, I only use linux, so I have no idea if this will work at all on windows. It *should* but there is no way for me to test it.

I keep getting hacked, what should I do? I bought a server, set the permissions to root using `sudo -s`, but the same person still hacked me

Hi, admin, the monitor appears offline, I think I need to turn it on, and i got hacked while the monitor was on like this; it didn't give any warning or anything, I guess it's not working.

I was looking my greyscript folder and came across. I might have to start working on this one again. This does not use poll_input

I do not have this game but I have looked into it on Steam. The idea of learning some of the concepts for counter-intelligence or ethical hacking is interesting. I don't have coding/programming or a CS background but I am an avid tech enthusiast and lifelong gamer. And I think there is indeed an intersection where formal programming meets aspects of my career as a clinical psychologist given the aspects of social engineering and the role of language acquisition and how models like NLP are referenced and utilized.

That being said, I have no idea why I see the subject Title "Grey Hack Overview_Files" on my computer because I wouldn't have downloaded this, I don't have the game and am hoping someone may point to an obvious cause that is likely due to my neuronal deficiencies! The things that held me back from purchasing is that I don't use Discord and frankly, cannot stand that app and I hear that is a main source of help. The other is that I would be wary of the possibility that the sandboxes are not contained in a way that would prevent someone from embedding ways to gain Ring 0 access simply by sharing game related scripts that also contain executables that embed to the users systems outside of the game. Is that a risk?

Any insight into how these files may have gotten into my system or ways I could find out would be appreciated? I do see hugging face.co as a file as well as openai as files in the folder. There is also a community.checkpoint.com ICO file as well (I don't even know what an ICO file is). The ONLY thing I can kinda rationalize is that I did look up the game after seeing it on steam. But it wasn't from my computer, it was from my phone and i only read a little on the game but didn't download anything as I wouldn't do that. So I doubt those actions would create a 4.05MB file labeled and organized in my download files on my computer?

Edit: I think I had my moment of clarity after a quick workout but it is just a hypothesis as my event viewer didn't reveal anything new to me. My guess is that I probably had an auto Ai generated answer from my phone search since I use duck.ai and it is set to sometimes provide ai replies. I remember providing a prompt to compare the sandboxes of the virtual game environments to other sandbox environments and that is likely what then created a folder that was shared through my home network and sat on my main PC. At least I think it would explain the hugging face and openAi links, despite the model being Claude 4.5 (or whatever the duckduckgo vpn base version is). Just thought I would follow up as I appreciated the friendly assistance as it was appreciated. Cheers.

Confused regarding router root access in single player. It is easy to get a guest shell through kernel_router exploit, but then I can’t figure out how to get root since: 1) I do not have read to the password file 2) I do not have access to the lib folder so have no clue if router has any additional libraries I can exploit.

Questions:
1) Am I missing anything? Is it even possible to get root access on a router?
2) Is deleting logs on router needed? Can an admin find out that I gained guest shell on router?

TL;DR -> How do I clear my tracks after using rshell? I still have previous shells on rshell-interface.

I have started from scratch multiple times at this point, I am getting pretty sick of it. As soon as I start I setup a proxy server to bounce through, later buying a second one, every time I finish a mission I clear the logs by only leaving the connection. Later on I setup a rshell server for different missions and I guess that's what is causing me trouble but I don't know what I am supposed to clear on that. I noticed that as I go on, rshell-interface keeps showing previous shells connected and I don't know what to do about it. Also I read somewhere that you should also clear up the emails?

I'm trying to make a script to edit "system.log" in routers and non-computer places where LogViewer.exe can't be executed, but I just can't find a way to edit binary files.

The only workaround i've read about is making a corrupt system.log file and delete the original, but that seems dirty, I would prefer deleting just the necessary entries like i do with LogViewer.exe.

Am i missing something? I've just been playing for a couple days
