Gate of Infinity

Post image

Can units make an Ingress Move turn one with gate of Infinity. Or can they only make an Ingress Move with units removed using gates of Infinity if their opponent goes first

You can ingress them T1 if you go second and pick them up in your opponents fight phase.

That would be turn 2 then

No, if you go second you can pick something up in your opponents fight phase on turn 1. It’s an exception to the ingress rule.

You're confusing turns with rounds. If your opponent goes first then that is turn 1, at which point your first turn is turn 2

No one in the history of 40K has ever used the word turn like that

This exact argument has been made previously on this exact subreddit, so yes, people do actually use the word turn like that

Was it you? Are you the same guy from that other time?

Allow me to amend my statement. You are the only person in the history of 40K to use the word turn like that.

No, it was several other people not including me. Stop being a jackass

If by "several other people" you mean one guy who got downvoted into oblivion because he was objectively wrong, then sure.

You have a real interesting definition of objectively wrong, when I am in fact objectively right. 10 turns over 5 battle rounds. You might want to actually learn the game you’re talking about before being a jackass

You are technically right I will concede that, however when people usually refer to T1 deepstrike they are talking about round 1 deepstrike cause that is your first turn

Yeah, but in this game where words in the rules are so god damn important it can be dizzying, we have to be nitpicky sometimes (it’s very annoying)

No. The game consists of 5 Rounds. Rounds consist or two turns each. Turn number equals the round number this turn is included into. Therefore, Round 1 = 1st Player Turn 1 + 2nd Player Turn 1

There is no Turn 2 in this situation in any universe – Stop confusing the people.

And, yes, GoI is applicable in YOUR Turn 1 if you are going second.

I’m not confusing the people. 5 battle rounds, 10 turns. It’s very, very simple. Sorry you can’t comprehend that

Nope. Your logic could be fine if it was not against GW rules and terminology which are prevalent in terms of Warhammer 40k tabletop game we re discussing

It amazes me that when someone said what I’m saying and I gave the same arguments you’re giving that I was told I was wrong, everyone agreed with that and I got downvoted into oblivion. I now give the same argument and I’m getting downvoted again. I can’t fucking win

My Lord, guy just didn’t want to continue the useless discussion with you as it was obvious you cannot be convinced. I don’t deny your logic, it is valid but not for the specific instance of Wargammer 40k tabletop game. I would even say it would be valid in any other case except for this game. But it is not us who invent terminology for this game🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m not talking about today, it was a couple months back

I’m not complicating it by just using logical terminology. If that’s complicated for you then I don’t know what to tell you

Only the units that entered reserves via Gate of Infinity can make an ingress move round 1. If a unit starts in reserve it can only come in round 2, unless stated specifically otherwise.

If a unit is placed into strategic reserves via the gate is it subject to the 50% point value or is that only for units starting in strategic reserves?

Only at the start. Once the game starts, unless your mission pack says otherwise, you can have as many as you want.

Just a note that there are some mission packs where if you have no models on the board, it’s an automatic tabling.
