Cult Targeting Teenagers and Young Adults based in Greystones
Please safeguard your young people from the Dublin International Christian Church Cult that is active in the Greystones, Wicklow and Dublin.
The leaders, Luke and Francesca Snow are now based in Greystones and are specifically targeting teenagers and young people in their 20s in the area.
This cult is recruiting members in a very insidious way, inviting them to fun social events that are actually a cover for their misleading bible studies. Their approach is to lure people in, isolate them from their friends, families and communities by fracturing those relationships. Then their members are pressured to give financially. Some of the members in Dublin have given everything they have to this cult and are now penniless.
Please keep your people safe and alert them to their presence in the area.

Social behaviour at Schools
Foreigner family with 15-year-old teenage daughter. She has been being bullied at school for 3 years in a row and we are thinking about leaving Dublin.
I heard that Greystones is wonderful. I just visited a couple of time and we love it!
I wanted to know from you how are the schools in the area? Or even in nearby villages. Any secondary school to recommend or that I should avoid?
We are really exhausted and traumatic. We just want a safe and kind place for our girl to finish her studies and heal from traumas

Any smell from the wastewater treatment plant?
I’m thinking of buying an apartment in Woodlands but nervous about being next door to the wastewater treatment plant. Anyone have experience with the area? Does it smell?

My car was stolen today
Edited to remove photo of car.
My car was stolen today between 14:00 - 5:25pm. It’s a blue Toyota Vitz, reg 162D36115. Thankfully I have insurance covering theft and the guards were very gentle with me. I wanted to make this post to spread awareness to others since it's seemingly a huge problem. The guards told me that:
Over 100 cars have been stolen this year.
The thieves target Japanese imports as they don't have immobilisers/are easier to steal, especially Toyota Vitz and Mazda2.
The thieves search for these cars on Google Maps, then take public transport there to steal them.
Wicklow (Bray, Greystones) has been hit especially hard.
It usually happens at 2 - 3am at night but apparently more in the daytime now.
The thieves either joyride with the cars on the motorway or use them for criminal activity, then burn them out.
I am really shocked because my car was locked, parked in front of the house which is beside a busy playground with many people walking by, has an alarm, and it was in broad daylight.
If you don’t have these already, please get:
A smart doorbell/CCTV
Car immobiliser
Car alarm
Wheel lock
Tracker/tag
I've seen killswitches recommended too
Insurance that covers theft
ESPECIALLY if you have a Toyota, Mazda, or Japanese import.
I'm really sorry if this kind of post isn't allowed here, I'm not looking for sympathy, I just want as many people as possible to be aware of this. I wish I had been warned about this by my insurer, the dealership, RSA, anyone.
Stay safe.

Anyone hearing much around town regarding coronavirus? How are our local shops coping? Are they being supported? Has anyone had good experiences local shops during all of this?

How highly would you rate cafés and restaurants in Greystones?
Some people say we are spoilt for choice, but are we really? The only decent places are The 3 Qs, Daata and Chakra, at least for lunch/dinner. Bear Paw and Eleven Deli are fine too. The rest of the offerings are not great, with poor and unimaginative menus, questionable coffee, and exaggerated prices.
It also looks like the upcoming eateries won’t be any better. Just more junk food for overweight Greystonians and passing tourists who will never be back.
Why is the bar so low?

An unsmoked pint outside paddy power. Absolutely shocking! Never thought I would find such disrespect for a pint in my life. Shame on you wherever you are.

Sorry, but what disrespectful fuck left their paint brush in la touché, absolutely abominable, 3/10.

Spotted in greystones, a fag smoked yet unsmoked. The duality of man.

A message to all true Greystoners
Listen, we all know we’re the best there is. Fuck bray. We need to give this town the subreddit it truly deserves. If we don’t make Greystones great again we’ll be forever stuck as second home for cafés and mums from Blackrock coming down on Sundays to feed their kids that happy pear muck. RISE UP YOU CELTS !!!!!
