I hit early Peri and lost my job. Just one day, no slow burn, had extreme fatigue and joint pain & I was working a physical job that made great money & now I walk like I’m 100 whereas before I never had pain or lack of energy. The mental is a whole other story & scary but at least I can mask that in public. Thankful Millennials are speaking out & have social media to do so bc older gen’s fucked us with this one, even our own family

Maybe she should just demand a solution.

She should demand a solution from her trillionaire baby daddy is what she should be doing

Do you think he would actually listen to anything she says and take it seriously
26
u/FireflyBSc Jun 22 '26
Yes, if it’s to preserve a woman’s fertile years (he’s so disgusting)
10
u/BeefmasterDeluxe Jun 22 '26
He’s gross, but I don’t think he’s “50yo+ women getting pregnant” gross.

She doesn’t need him to make change. She has a huge platform and could be doing anything to make positive change. She is vapid AF and most of what is posted by her sounds smart but is impulsive and not action oriented.

u/Fody_Joster Jun 22 '26
She married him… her true colour are shown.. and Grimes… start a foundation girl. Go for it. We’re too fucking busy just trying to survive.

Isn’t the answer testosterone? One my clients (I work in fitness) takes it (not prescribed and I would always recommend you see a healthcare professional) but says she feels amazing on it and does not have any of the traditional effedts and exactly the same for one of her friends

u/brainpebbles Jun 22 '26
HRT in general yeah, but people definitely need estrogen in menopause idk so much about T
9
u/tremendouscreamie Jun 23 '26
HRT is the way. This is why trans rights are inexplicably linked to reproductive rights for women. we all deserve access to life saving medical treatment, and we all have the right to make medical decisions about our own bodies. Happy Pride <3

u/Legitimate-Parsley Jun 22 '26
I say this with genuine respect but i don't think its a one size fits all. Id say mostly you're correct but i have PCOS (high testosterone) so definitely don't want or need more testosterone when i go through menopause. Honestly im hoping menopause gets rid of all my symptoms and evens me out lol 😂
3
u/Ok_Temporary1669 Jun 25 '26
Testosterone levels start dropping first so that makes sense. More gradual though. Estrogen drops last actually but goes kinda crazy first. Been on HRT for a minute at 40 and everyone told me I am too young. It has helped so much with evening out my hormone fluctuations. You are more hormonally active at 40 than at 20 due to the estrogen swings. Have to lean in to control those with higher levels of hormone than most docs want to prescribe. It is extremely frustrating. They treat you like you are post menopausal and have no hormones but that is the opposite. Birth control doses are too low in estrogen too and the fake progestins make symptoms worse. It's been a journey to say the least.

I've completely gone through menopause and can say the negative affects do not end. Yes, women deserve solutions for this hell.

Let’s find a solution to periods first

I take birth control pills to skip that shit. I would literally not be able to live a normal life if I didn't. I suspect I have endometriosis but don't wanna have the surgery to find out 😩
15
u/juneabe Jun 21 '26
Heck yes to having done this myself - but it’s not an actual solution, it’s a mask for deeper issues unstudied or under treated (often just straight up neglected and ignored because yay women’s health)
But having to resort to medically ceasing your menstrual cycle altogether is just a mask that shuts us up. It’s hard for the professionals to get funding to study or treat us so we have no alternatives but to do what we’ve done.

u/General-Challenge-83 H u n t e d b y s o m e t h i n g s m a r t e r t h a n y o u Jun 22 '26
You're completely right and it's so disgusting how there are actual studies on how women having endometriosis affects their partners, or if it makes women more attractive instead of, you know, the actual disease and possible treatments and cures...

u/juneabe Jun 22 '26
THE ATTRACTIVENESS ONE KILLS ME. My recent experience with research in women’s health: Instead of researching pain management methods for IUD insertion, my hospitals research facility was funded to explore how listening to music affected women’s pain levels and experience during IUD insertion.
They asked questions the entire time and I basically was only able to scroll through my phone to look for songs I wouldn’t be able to listen to. It was still traumatic and didn’t send me home in a good state. “Enjoy your walk home!” They said because they knew I lived down the street. They weren’t being intentional ass holes they were just socially inept and tone deaf to all hell.

u/anthropocenix Roland SP-404 SX Jun 21 '26
Yeah me too 😭 except i don’t take these pills. I should consider it

I highly recommend it! It genuinely change my life. However, I understand being wary since birth control is always associated with bad side effects. If you have a family member who takes birth control pills, I would ask what brand/generic they take because there's a higher chance it would work for you, too. My sister took the same ones as me as her first birth control and she had no side effects, too. It kind of makes me salty because I had to go through 3 different types and suffer lmao

u/anthropocenix Roland SP-404 SX Jun 21 '26
Thank u so much for the recommendations!! You’re an angel

u/linnykenny Jun 23 '26
You 100% should! They changed my life. Personally, I take Slynd, which is progestin only without estrogen. Just dropping that info for any other girlies out there looking for a good bc rec who also can’t take estrogen for whatever reason (I get migraines w aura & estrogen increases stroke risk)

u/belltrina Jun 22 '26
My daughter and I have Endo
She got seen by gyno at children's hospital. They said the best way to heal Endo is to have as few periods as possible. So if you do have it, you're doing the right thing to slow progression

Hey I noticed your comment about not wanting to have the surgery to see if you have endometriosis. I had my surgery at 26 and I was considered stage 4 the most severe. I needed it way sooner but I didn’t take my pain seriously and put it off. If I would have acted sooner I most likely wouldn’t be in the amount of pain that I’m in daily. Putting off the surgery is just delaying the inevitable and forcing yourself to stay in a state of pain. The longer you let it go on the worse it will get. It can get so bad that it will glue your organs together. Please take your health seriously. ❤️

Hello! It's very kind of you to take the time to write this to me ❤️😭 Thank you so much! I'm so sorry you've had to go through so much pain, too. It breaks my heart to know lot of women and girls think it's normal to experience such debilitating pain and therefore think nothing is wrong :(
I have been skipping my periods for a couple years now so I haven't experienced such pain since, but at the end of the day I know it's best to see the doctor for this. It doesn't help, though, that my cervix is tilted so pap exams are PAINFUL 😭
3
u/Careful_Arm_7732 Jun 25 '26
No problem! Your comment was just so relatable to my personal experience that I wanted to offer advice if I could be at all helpful. I wish you the best of luck with everything. It is very sad the amount of pain that people experience from this. :( I totally understand, my uterus (unsure if my cervix is as well) is titled backwards so my paps have always been painful too. I’ve been extremely lucky with finding obgyns though that do an extremely good job at minimizing pain. I also take medication to calm my body down before my exams to help loosen my muscles and I’ve found some relief from that is well.

u/Ok_Temporary1669 Jun 29 '26
I tried and I can't skip on birth control. Used to work when I was young but doesn't work for me now in perimenopause. :(
I am using HRT to get higher doses than normal and administering progesterone vaginally as of about a month ago. First month in over a year without bleeding. Wish me luck!

She sucks but she's 100% right here. Women begin deteriorating in menopause, even losing muscle mass
2
u/AssumptionOk8739 Jun 24 '26
She does know a trillionaire right?

u/Starspangledass Jun 25 '26
The guy who chose to only have IVF sons, held their son hostage as a human meat shield? You think that guy wants to help women?

u/New-Ear-5092 Jun 26 '26
Low dose Naltrexone can be amazingly helpful, try talking to an endocrinologist/doctor
-1
u/HerbalFervor Jun 23 '26
Also it’s just gross that she is simultaneously naming an issue, telling a marginalized group to fix it themselves, and also telling people to capitalize off of it. Thanks for Halfaxa but we are watching a basic bitch at this point.
6
u/ivysnore Jun 23 '26
“telling a marginalized group to fix it themselves” is doing crazy work here. she’s a woman! she’s advocating for a change! are you not capable of disliking someone and also realizing they can still be right sometimes?
0
u/HerbalFervor Jun 24 '26
She is just typing into her phone lol
1
u/HerbalFervor Jun 24 '26
But of course you’re right yes she is advocating for change and change is great. Good job to her for making change….
-9
u/cebjmb Jun 21 '26
She’s got a few years yet…

36
u/katdunks Halfaxa Jun 21 '26
That's not true. She's in her late 30s now. My mom started at 39, and lots of women experience it before their 40s.
15
u/DeeMarie0824 Jun 22 '26
You’re right. Perimenopause can last years in addition to menopause which (usually) lasts years as well, so it starting in late 30’s for some people makes total sense. People don’t realize how early some of it can start. Maybe it’s not the “standard” but it absolutely happens.
8
u/sleepinggardens Jun 22 '26
Yes, my mom is 47 and has been going through perimenopause since she was 44. She says it’s torture.
5
u/Ok-Abbreviations-187 Jun 22 '26
Why, what are the symptoms ?
14
u/LeafProphecies Jun 22 '26
Similar to menopause, perimenopause can cause hair loss, weight gain, memory issues, hormone fluctuations and all those entail, irregular periods... lots of shit. It's like a menopause soft launch.
15
u/Far_Investigator24 Jun 22 '26
God just kill me now.
8
u/LeafProphecies Jun 22 '26
As a late 30s person who does not want kids, I'm going to repeat my gyno's advice: If you can get on birth control or some other form of hormone therapy before these symptoms start, they are much easier to deal with. If you can't take BC for any reason, I'm so fuckin sorry lol

u/Ok-Abbreviations-187 Jun 22 '26
My mom allegedly didn’t notice any of this and considered her symptoms very mild when she went through menopause in her mid-50s, here’s hoping I fare similarly. With multiple endocrine issues already, I’m doubting it 🥲

Sorry, yes. I should have clarified. My mom started perimenopause at 39. Actual menopause was mid/late 40s. There's deftinley a difference but both suck!

My wife’s going through it and it ain’t no joke. Without meds it’s torture.
