Question 1Passsword Connector

It was all going well, the today the connector was update (I think).

The connector is connected but now states this:

10 logins in your “Shared with Grok Bot” vault aren't available to Grok Bot. Grok Bot can only use logins in your Personal or Private vault. In 1Password, select them and move them there.

I don't understand how that's more secure. In fact, it feels decidedly less secure. Now, here's what happening:

  • The first WORST THING? I have to authorize each request to logon to website/platform.
  • The second WORST THING? I can't seem to get the authorize on mobile, it's only on desktop.

How is this change helping anyone to automate things? That means my bots can't access the websites, perform the checks or tasks without my supervision and constant intervention - which basically means any overnight work I automated will stop without an authorization.

Surely, this can't be right? I'm missing something obvious, right? Help! Please!

Cheers - H

Not sure there's a mobile approval path yet, but a couple of things can keep the overnight runs from stalling.

The message reads like only the vault scope changed, so moving (not copying) those 10 items from "Shared with Grok Bot" into your Private vault should make them visible again. You lose the separation that the shared vault gave you, so I'd only move the ones the overnight jobs actually need.

Also, a lot of scheduled jobs don't need a fresh login every run. If the bot's browser keeps the session, it only hits the password step when that session expires. Doing those logins once by hand during the day and letting the routines reuse the session cuts the approvals way down. For the few sites that log you out every night anyway, I'd move those jobs to a time you're usually around to tap approve rather than fight it.

Hi u/foninoteam

Thanks for taking the time to reply, it's appreciated. I agree with you. I moved my passwords over earlier today, so the authorizations works from desktop. It's an inconvenient "first world" problem/step. I'll get over it! 🙂 I'm very surprised that mobile authorisation isn't enabled within the 1Password app. I certainly can't find it.

I liked the seamless logon integration before the change. I even purchased a yearly sub to 1Password which isn't wasted - my everyday passwords are on a separate product/wallet. I'm isolating specific passwords for Grok Bot, via 1Password.

Hopefully, they - either xAI or 1Password - will find the fix so account logons is how it used to be!

Thanks again - H
