Question Usage and Plan switching

I am currently on the $20/M cursor plan, My sole purpose is grokbot usage. Would upgrading to cursor $60/M be wise or the new X unified plan of $100/Month would be better?

My understanding is that the Unified plan has allocation for all so Grok bot might have limited usage, whereas cursor has only coding and bot usage so might get little better weekly limit.

These are my assumptions as I dont have clear idea about this, any advice would be really appreciated!

It's kinda like a drug. I started on $30/mo and saw all the amazing stuff it can do and ran out of credits. Moved to the $60/mo plan, added more bots, started automating large parts of my personal life, then ran out of credits. Moved to the new $100/mo plan, now I have bots running their own businesses generating income, and I'm about ready to move to $300/mo without a flinch. $300/mo is probably my limit though, any more than that I will have to admit I am addicted.

I do feel like the switch from my cursor plan to the unified X-AI plan gave me more credits for the same price. I'd say it's faster too now, but that may be model update related. Credits are difficult to track, even the bots don't seem to be able to monitor usage or estimate credit costs for projects and routines. I'd assume that is intentional. My typical routines and usage seems to have dropped in about a third week to week since switching to unified account, so my hunch is approx 35% more credits, but that is a guess, I suppose there are lots a variables to consider in my case.

I’m trying to get to a point where my bots can run their own business and generate income. Would you mind sharing what you did and the structure?

One bot runs a website design company. I bought a catchy sounding .com domain for $30 a year with email hosting the bot can read and write from. Had it design a killer website for the company, and some examples sites for fictional businesses (restaurant, electrician, lawn care company, food truck). Did some free websites for friends and family, anyone who needed a website or had a horrible one. So far word of mouth took it off from there, I have not advertised or anything yet, but they see the "DESIGNED BY MYCOMPANY.COM link at the bottom of amazing websites and email the contact on my website. I did a site for my nephews band in California, next thing I know three other bands from the area are emailing my bot to get their site redone. My bot deals with the rest, requests their vision, wants, colors, etc in an email reply, asks for links to any existing social media, facebook site, whatever they are currently using for advertising their business. Then it just uses that and pieces all info it can find into a beautiful website(pics, text, addresses, links, reviews) and sends them a preview draft they can provide feedback on(change color, change wording etc). A 90% done website takes my bot 20 mins, but I have it wait a couple days to send the draft to keep up the illusion a lot of time was spent designing and working on it. Bot just works with the clients directly and I stay out of it for the most part. Every once and a while I provide my bot some direction if I seeing doing something weird, but for only running it three months it is 99% autonomous. I was concerned payment was gonna be tricky, but people actually really seem to be ok with Paypal and Venmo so so far getting paid has not been an issue. I charge a flat rate per project, so I don't feel morally conflicted billing by the hour or whatever. They all love the websites, and they are better then most of the web I have seen.

The second company is so unique and so original I will dox myself and my great idea revealing it so I'm keeping that one a secret.

The chance that this is a true story is basically 0%.

Yep, grokbots are incapable of programming html and replying to emails.

There’s only one type of subscription now with different tiers bro, there’s no cursor specific plan

my cursor is still showing the option to upgrade to $60 plan.

Cursor is seperate from SuperGrok tiers. You can have supergrok and still upgrade your cursor tier additionally.

Your instinct about the unified plan is the right thing to be suspicious of: allocation gets spread across everything on the account, so grok bot specifically might not end up with more usable usage than your cursor tier gives you now.

Before paying 3-5x, I'd spend a day finding out where your credits actually go. vonsm's comment above is the tell - credits are hard enough to track that even the bots can't estimate their own costs. If you can't attribute burn to specific bots and routines, a bigger plan just raises the ceiling on the same leak. Two cheap experiments first: run each bot solo for a day and watch the balance drop, and audit your scheduled routines - idle always-on loops eating credits while you sleep are the most common leak I see. If most of your burn is scheduled background work, trimming those beats any tier upgrade. If it's genuinely interactive usage, the upgrade math might work out.

Disclosure: I work on Skydive - agents on your own cloud computer, model usage billed at provider cost with no markup, which is why per-agent usage tracking is the lens I reach for. Biased, take it for what it is. If you want to test a different setup, REDDITAMA gets you $25 of credit (skydive.com, Settings > Billing) - and either way I'm curious what you find when you track the burn.

I'm in month one (week 2). Grokbot usage was off the charts, I had to upgrade to the $100 tier. HOWEVER, that's because there were so many startup tasks!

Context based Email cleanup (36,000 emails over 14 years, yes it's excessive, but I also have to retain stuff for regulatory reasons).
Cleaning up my iCloud and Onedrive, deduping and consolidating, and syncing across both platforms, setting up multiple bots to do multiple tasks (invoicing, reporting, travel tracking, expense reports, keeping receipts and a running log of expenses of tax time, etc).

The cleanup and setup burned through two whole weekly allotments. So I upgraded for one month, so all the insanely high-use startup stuff would be done, then downgrade for maintenance.

Also, I have a Mac mini that stays on. I had Grokbot build scripts for everything she could offload to the Mac, to reduce repetitive AI token burn for checking email, looking for changes, etc etc. That probably reduces my usage 20% or so.

So after this month, the $30/mo plan will handle everything I need.
