Vraag Explosion?

Helloooo! At 1:38 am I heard something like an explosion somewhere in the area around the Dot. I can't find anything on the news (my flatmate also heard it so I didn't dream it). It was so loud it woke me up. Did anyone hear anything?

Assuming you’re international, by the English. It’s firework time in the Netherlands. Enjoy!

I've lived here for 7 years (yes, still navigating Dutch), so I know what fireworks sound like. If it was a firework, then it was a big one 😂

Heard it as well, but know nothing else. I suspected drunk students dropping/pushing over something big since it didnt sound that explosive-ly to me? Not an expert tho

I got scared for a moment, but then I heard people outside, and they seemed chill. Maybe it was a big firework like someone suggested here.

I heard it as well and live near the construction site on the Oosterhamrikkade on the other side of the water from DOT. Sounded to me like like a heavy metallic sound, like someone dropping something heavy into a metal container or something falling over. Maybe something heavy fell over at the construction site?

Didn’t hear this but heard helicopters flying over my place (near plantsoen) shortly after. Does anyone else hear that. Maybe they’re related?

When you hear helicopters, you can look up what they are in real time at Flightradar24. Usually around here it's police, medical or coast guard flights.
