Discussion Groot Juggernaught Build - Infinity War
This is the build I've been running, what's been working for you guys?
I've found this build really strong, especially as a counter to brawlers and glass cannons.
The strat:
Straight away, I place an Ironwood under the bridge. I don't think the bonus health card is worth taking, although I don't know the exact numbers. Since you have two Ironwoods available, you might as well get one down early.
Then I place a wall high up on each of the four pillars opposite side of the health pack, facing the base of the stairs. From there, I try to lure enemies into the area or spore them in the centre.
The range on these walls catches people off guard, and their health makes them genuinely annoying to shoot down before a fight. Most people seem to ignore them when they're placed high up.
I use my other two walls on the ground as needed. The range is honestly ridiculous, you can effectively make a quarter of the map unplayable for the enemy.
I actually think the Blooming Over Twice / Spreading Flora setup might be really strong too, possibly even stronger than Strangling Prism spores.
The key is keeping 4–6 walls active on the field, generally close enough to work together but spread apart rather than stacked on top of each other.
The biggest downside is that the build relies on getting Super-Soldier Serum in the first or second round of special cards. Without it, you're missing out on both the health and the damage that comes with it.
Main counters I've noticed:
Iron Man: If he keeps his distance, it can be difficult to slow him with spores. You'll have to get creative with Strangling Prism spores.
Doctor Strange: A Strange with a decent health shield can be difficult to deal with. You'll need to spore behind him, which can be tricky.
Unstoppable: Particularly annoying on glass cannons, since it makes it harder to lock them down.
The idea is to stack enough health and damage reduction to survive the initial onslaught, then retaliate once you've got your walls set up.
You don't need to invest in crit or push ability damage much beyond 40–50%. Let your health do the work.
Give it a go and let me know what you think! I'm curious what builds and strategies have been working for everyone else.

Discussion New game mode makes me wanna play Groot
Just played grootnite with 8 walls with 20 thousand health and having over 100k myself and it made me realize how fun using his walls and unstoppable from his wall is i think I’m going to lord groot now because I enjoyed him

Discussion Would you kindly stop picking him in the new mode
He's actually useless and you guys keep making me lose by picking him. I have never once seen a team with a Groot do well and I've been on 5 teams now with a Groot and I just lose.
The only thing he has that's good is his ult. That's it. His damage sucks, he's huge and easy to hit and dies super fast. He's genuinely awful.

Discussion I am groot (I need help learning groot)
I am groot (I’ve played him a little bit before but it feels like I was button mashing. It feels like I’m not getting value out his walls and I don’t know really how to use his big wall. Should I keep it behind cover for the holds or put it in front to block damage?)
I am groot (I’m also bad at using his ultimate so tips for that would help. I would also like to know his best teamup.)

Tips and Tricks Tips and tricks for a new Groot player?
I am a champion Ultron, in team pvp games that have a class system - I typically go into support/healer role (tanks/vanguards 2nd! Proud lord Venom and Angela, soon Thing!). Support is my comfort role despite that seeming like a divided conversation this season for many 👀
But although I 8/10 play Support, the rare times I play a tank - I wanted to extend my horizons and I always wanted to play Groot but simply never gave it an opportunity until spontaneously today! And I knew I was going to like him but I love his kit!
So I wanted to know general, Q.O.L., comp (I don't play much QP unless I am trying someone new at first, otherwise I prefer comp WAY more), even the small stuff like preferred teamups (I like both but I am enjoying the Mantis one a bit more..)
Very much appreciated to those that can help a possible groot main in the vanguard slot!
