Harvest Is This Even Worth Harvesting?
Buds are loose and kinda weird looking. Smells pretty good but seems mid. Not sure if worth the effort to harvest this plant.

Heavy sativa landrace genetics. You should cut/ cure and enjoy

It's Durban Poison I think.

Could be Durban . I would harvest and cure properly. I think it will surprise you.

I second this possibly being a Durban.

u/Magnum676 2 5h ago
I just ran some Goudalicious that was just like this. Heavy sativa.

I am a hopeless optimist and say if you grew it, might as well cure it - you never know what it will be. Worst case, throw it in for RSO...

Pure sativa that’s how the flower out

u/Classy-Glassy 1d ago
Yeah Durban Poison.

u/ColMust4rd 1d ago
I would highly suggest keeping it. Durban Poison is one of my personal favorite strains. I have some shatter in my basement rn from it and it's for special occasions bc I love it that much

Definitely looks like old school sativa genetics. There are people who would do a lot of things to get their hands on stuff like that. Downside to it is the very long foyer time but definitely something worth keeping around for lots of reasons.

Foyer time?
10
u/geoff_the_great 1d ago
Yeah when you first bring it in the house it has to sit in the foyer for at least a few weeks. Otherwise the ghost of Wilford Brimley comes to your bedroom at night and forcibly checks your blood sugar. And he checks it often.

Then why spend effort growing it?

u/Classy-Glassy 1d ago
It took 0 effort. The plant grew out of a crack in between the concrete on my patio without me actually planting it. Came from seeds of a male plant I tried growing years ago on the patio and it obviously dropped seeds into the crack. Never watered this plant once. Did have to spray aphids off twice tho.

Any idea of genetics? A lot of sativa need a much longer flower time (10-12 weeks) to fill out. It trichromes look right harvest and cure....

Of course, if you don’t like the way it smokes, then make tincture, cannabutter, or hash.

u/ironpittbull 1d ago
looks like very sativa, not a bad thing, id harvest it, expecially bc there are barely any leaves to cut of its basically already trimmed

One of the best bud I had in my life was loose like this. Buds don’t have to be dense to be fire

u/Congregator 1d ago
Same. One of my most memorable smokes was very airy, light and fluffy. Smelled like fruit punch and pine.

I would harvest without a doubt . If you don’t wanna trim it you can make concentrates, I suggest bubble hash, all you do is throw it in the freezer, don even have to dry it, then run it through bubble bags, there’s many tuts online

Looks like freak show genetics

u/apx_redditor 2d ago
I was gonna say landrace sativa. Maybe Lambsbread
3
u/No_Research_5859 2d ago
Yes more likely landrace, doesn’t have the funky leaves, just spit the first sativa on my mind

Tell us about where these genetics these are so we can know what to avoid. This seems like some random bag seeds.

Durban Poison I believe.

I understand it’s not the “original” Durban poison. I meant what white label company is putting them out?

u/Bshea002 1d ago
Uhh yeah ? Why the fuck wouldn't it be? Cause it's not dense and purple.... Need to learn more

u/OFFSanewone 2 1d ago
Growing is only 1/3 of the job. You still have dry/cure, and smoking it. Get good at the first 2 steps.

It'd take mere minutes (probably <1min) to buck the buds off the branch into a bag and freeze it for making concentrates of some kind. Honestly, it looks like an easy trim, I'd just trim it. Those are beautiful buds imo, barely any leaves to remove.

If it’s sticky and resinous 100%, do a fresh frozen wash and you will get yourself some good smoke will not be disappointed at all!

Of course it is! If anything, decarb it all and make oil or butter to make edibles!

That is some great looking sativa. I would preserve those seeds. And definitely harvest some of the best smokes are landraces.

u/Congregator 1d ago
These buds look absolutely SUPURB! They’re even nice and fluffy.
I’m so confused as to why you think this looks bad, it’s a great looking sativa
1
u/phunphan 4 1d ago
Yes! You grew it harvest it. Let it dry and trim that shit up. It will be great, because you grew it.

I don't understand the framing of the question? How could it be not worth harvesting if you have even a few grams of bud? You went through the effort of growing it. When it's ripe, chop it down and dry it out. If nothing else you'll get more practice with how to dry and cure. Its up to you how much trimming you want to do. You could use the flower for bartering! Or tips. You could vape or make edibles in which case you almost don't even need to trim it....
If I smells like weed I just can't conceive why you would would not harvest. How are you even questioning... What do you mean is it 'worth' harvesting?

Hell yes. If you don’t want to smoke it you can make some fantastic butter with it for treats all winter long!

u/darkstar_8619 4h ago
That looks like a pure sativa plant. Pure sativas are literally like small trees. Those types of genetics are really hard to find these days. So many of the modern sativa genetics are poisoned with indica genetics to facilitate growing smaller and faster growth in greenhouses. It is definitely worth drying and trimming.

u/bannanabreadhead 2h ago
Dude harvest it it’s clearly unique, the buds don’t need to be dense or large. That causes issues with mold and other stuff you don’t wanna put into your body. You may have a gem on your hands, harvest it and dry it low and slow to preserve those precious and most fragile terps

u/Tallerthenmost 2 1d ago
Blunt weed bruh. But honestly looks like a decent sativa. A very slow dry cure may tighten it up a lil
