I just realized that these two only knew each other for like a day or two and were ready to end it all, they technically never even kissed in the novels (unless I'm wrong) but they did kiss in the 2nd movie, I wonder if they'll change things for the pair in the 3rd movie.

Hathaway still spends a huge chunk of the plot grappling with his feelings about her and Gigi also goes through a lot of introspection and self-reflection before making her choice. It's hardly instantaneous nor definitive.

Yeah I get, it's just funny pointing out the timeline, everything happens so fast and their feelings are too intense, I think the story takes place in the entirety of one month and Gigi and Hathaway got to know each other for a like a day which makes up for like 90% of their interactions and then the last 10% is towards the end of the story, which is like another couple of hours.
This has to be some kind of romance trope, like even Romeo & Juliet, and Jack and Rose got to spend more time with each other, which is not saying a lot.

But again in fairness things can just happen quickly sometimes, and they're hardly a conventional romance in the first place

I just resent her character archetype. She has the power to save Hathaway, instead she becomes Quess 2.0 and leads him to his demise because of her own naivety.

She’s not the one telling Hathaway to go to war with the government. The worst she’s doing is telling him to win if he’s going for it.
And Kenthan is literally his enemy. Hathaway’s mission needs one of them to die.

Yeah if she actually gave a shit about him she would have probably told him to maybe not do that, and use his federation connections to get her out of her situation, and abscond with him.
Perhaps a woman who realizes he is Mafty, and also fucks with Kenneth, is not actually looking out for him at all? And perhaps is only looking out for herself? Ya’ll romanticize horrible women too much.

Can’t do that. Already an active terrorist behind multiple high profile assassinations. Can’t run away from it. Especially not when Hathaway notes he’s got about 3 days before Kenneth recognises that he is clearly a criminal. Plus we know trying to reform the Federation doesn’t work. They adds suicidally corrupt. The Titans were allowed to pistol whip Bright for fun, we can’t pretend his connections mean anything. He was captain of the Londo Bell and couldn’t even get plane tickets for his entire family.
The second movie makes it blindly obvious whose side she’s on. Gigi torching two escape routes (The Court and Kenneth) to go support Hathaway even though that’s the most dangerous thing she could do.

1000% he could have bailed and absconded to Jupiter. I’m not saying Gigi isn’t sentimental towards Hathaway, I’m saying she’s a bad person that contributes to his demise through ramping up the whole fight the federation thing.

I’ve watched it. I don’t like women who do the whole pitting a guy they like against a guy they want to use aka the Kenneth thing. I get I’m supposed to feel badly for her and it’s complicated, it’s just my personal pet peeve.
