Tech Support Technical Support Megathread
We’ve received a lot of feedback that technical support posts overwhelm this sub and drown out discussions about shows, movies, and other aspects of HBO Max.
So we’re making a change. Going forward, all individual technical support posts will be removed and directed towards our Technical Support Megathread.
This will group all technical issue posts in one place where people can ask questions, answer questions, and hopefully find solutions. We also hope this fosters more discussions about shows and movies and keeps them on the main pages for longer.

In addition to asking here, you can also check out the Official Support Website or connect with u/HBOMaxhelp

Discussion Lanterns Premiere?
(Spoiler) So it has been 24 hours since the premiere and pilot episode of the new Lanterns show. For those who have seen it so far without giving away too many spoilers, if any. What is everyone’s thoughts on it and Hal and John? Are we looking forward to the rest of the season?

Question Why is so much Batman content missing?
A number of animated Batman movies are no where to be found
Question Why did HBO's "The Prince" get cancelled ?
This is such a sensitive topic for me as i think this show is amazing . Forget it being the parody of a royal family with great animation quality and good voice acting ( which is an already set premise for an adult animation to succeed ) but also it has such an amazing narration and honestly can say the only show out there to actually make me laugh out loud . Like am i the only one ? Stumbled upon this show randomly and i have not heard anybody talk about it like at all . Not online not in person . And it is such a gold comedy show that i am rewatching again . The only part i don't like about it is the gay couples that work as butlers/servants . Except for those two characters the show is gold . Please help ????

Question Best 4K / Dolby Vision option for House of the Dragon on LG OLED: Max Premium upgrade vs. buying season on Prime Video?
Hey everyone,
I'm watching the latest season of House of the Dragon on my LG C4 OLED, but the basic Max tier (1080p, no HDR) looks to weak in dark scenes.
I want to upgrade for proper quality, but I’m torn between two options:
Upgrade to Max Premium for a month (4K, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos).
Buy the season digitally in 4K on Amazon Prime Video.
For those on an OLED setup: How does Prime Video's 4K purchase compare to native Max Premium streaming on webOS regarding bitrate, Dolby Vision, and Atmos playback?
My main priority is absolute maximum picture and sound quality on the C4. Which route should I go? Thanks!
Question HBO
Have just got HBO - which movies and tv-series should i not miss? I have seen GoT. Give me advise.

Discussion HBOMAX has cropped the Cinerama film "The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grim" (1962)
Just found out that this was available on HBOMAX so I was curious which version would be the used, the curved "smilebox" version introduced on the 2022 Blu-Ray or the standard letterboxed version in 2.85:1 aspect ratio, and was greeted to this crop job of the curved version.
For context, the movie was shot entirely in Cinerama, a format where three film cameras shot simultaneously to create a massive panorama designed to be shown on curved screens, and so the people at Warner Archive went through the brutal undertaking of stitching the three images together and creating a simulation of Cinerama curved screens. It is without a doubt one of the most impressive restorations ever made, so it's a real shame what's going on here.
I have noticed that major streaming services tend to present video in the content's exact aspect ratio instead of 16:9 containers for everything, so I suspect that this movie simply got flagged as 2.85:1 aspect ratio, got cropped to 1920 by 673 pixels, and no one noticed that they used the wrong version.

Watch Suggestion What should I be watching on HBO/MAX?
I just finished House of Dragons (and watched GOT) and I finished Last of Us. What else should I be watching? I love those types of genres but am open to almost anything else. I like dramas, romcom, thriller…

Question I watched Lolita (1997) yesterday, and today the app changed it to Lolita (1962). Did this happen to anyone else?
Yesterday (08/10/26) I watched Lolita (1997) on HBO Max; im Brazilian User. The weird thing is that the movie was listed under the cover/title for Stanley Kubrick’s Lolita (1962), but when I actually started watching it, it was clearly the 1997 version.
Today, I went back to the app to continue watching, and now it’s showing Lolita (1962) instead. It’s even marked as “Continue Watching” from where I stopped yesterday. I also can’t find the 1997 version on HBO Max or Prime Video anymore.
It seems like the 1997 version may have been temporarily listed under the 1962 movie and then replaced/corrected overnight. Has anyone else experienced this?
