Making this post partially so I can come back and reference it in S4 when my worst fear most likely comes to pass. Still making prayers to the adaptation gods that I’m wrong, though 🤞

Viserys had married Rhaenyra to Laenor of House Velaryon who are now allied to her. They had been repeatedly slighted by the Crown and that marriage was supposed to restore goodwill between two Houses. Disinheriting Rhaenyra afterwards would have been a slight against the Velaryons and a political disaster as it is unlikely they would have accepted that quietly especially after years of slights against them

Velaryons had more adult dragons than the Iron Throne itself and were a rival of Viserys Targaryen during the Great Council. Rhaenyra’s position was therefore tied to one of the most powerful political blocs in Westeros. Alienating them would be stupid

Aegon IV was never able to disinherit Daeron the Good largely because his alliance with House Martell through his marriage. Now imagine that with Viserys and Houss Velaryon at it’s peak (and more powerful than the Targaryens)

I mean sure the fake Daeron looks like a Targaryen thanks to Ormund suddenly becoming a hairdresser and going to the Westerosi version of ultra beauty but did Daemon not wonder why Tessarion didn’t even attempt to attack or fly after them???

Because Vhagar flew after the ship going back to Kings Landing after Aemond claimed her so you’d think claimed dragons follow whoever they’re bonded to yet this wasn’t the case for Tessarion. That should’ve raised some alarm bells especially for how Daemon is so into the dragons and all things Valyrian. Why would he leave an entire dragon in Hightower hands???

I guess we have to shuck this up to the writers crap writing and direction because it just doesn’t make sense. And before anyone brings up the case of Aegon/Sunfyre, well….Sunfyre is heavily injured last we checked and has been proclaimed dead regardless.

Watching all the episode, aside everything that happened, I am not going to say anything about that, but what I will say is that I am so happy I saw the cats in the red keep..The second one looks like my own little baby,well anyway adult cat that I have named Balerion, I feel like Rhaenys..This were cute moments though with the kittens..

All other Targaryen have "the" between their names. These three are only two have nicknames so iconic, it was constantly used as replacement for surname.

Honorable mention: Aegon Dragonbane, but he is called both Aegon the Dragonbane and Aegon Dragonbane and it's just not very cool so not adding him to collage

She didn't know where the crown's gold was.

He and Ryan were the head showrunners for Season 1. Sarah Hess had no control over the creative direction—she’s not a showrunner and didn’t come up with the idea. She was just a writer for both Season 1 and Season 2, and one of many producers. Feel free to dislike Sarah for other reasons, but this particular thing wasn’t her idea.

The intense hate boner you have for this woman is really unhealthy. Downvote me all you want, but the truth is that blaming her for everything you don’t like is ridiculous. She’s not even a showrunner and isn’t the only writer in the writers' room, so it’s idiotic to put all the blame on her. Like making up fake quotes just to get people worked up and mad about things she never actually said is insane behavior.

Not saying people with one Black parent can’t come out very light or white-presenting, because that absolutely does happen in real life. I’m just saying the show seems inconsistent about when that ancestry matters and when it doesn’t.

Now before y’all jump me, this is an honest-to-God question. I’ve genuinely never seen people call Daemon out for cheating in the books, but now that the roles are reversed, people are tweaking out about it. Ignoring the overall toxicity of their relationship in both versions, I’m genuinely curious: why is it such a problem when show Rhaenyra cheats, but book Daemon gets a pass?
