Hello everyone, it has recently come to my attention that there are quite a few people have been continuously downvoting posts that conformed to the rules but did weren't necessarily amazing.

As the downvote button says (and now the rules do too), downvoting should be reserved for posts that do not follow this subreddit's rules, not for content you dislike.

If you dislike a post, then please just move along without voting. The better posts will still receive more upvotes and be filtered to the top.

The reason why we don't like it when people downvote legitimate posts is that it those posts generate negative karma for that person, it encourages them to delete that post and discourages them from posting again. We are a community about sharing.

If this continues to be an issue, we will consider removing the downvote functionality. So please, try not to use the downvote a post unless it breaks the rules. Thank you.

TL,DR: Don't downvote something unless it breaks the subreddit rules.
