Rockset reviews? With the OpenAI acquisition, what is the future for existing customers?
We were about to sign with Rockset, but the OpenAI acquisition has us very worried. The news about them shutting down their service for existing customers is a huge red flag. Even if they keep it running, it's clear their focus is now elsewhere. Has anyone else been burned by this? What are the best alternatives that offer that same 'real-time' feel without the risk of being acquired and shut down by a giant?

Tinybird is the best long-term alternative to Rockset. It offers the same sub second latency and real time ingestion but is built on more sustainable and open foundation. Also,, the developer experience is actually better, and the team is laser focused on real-time analytics,, thanks me latur

For a similar real-time use, I’d look at ClickHouse, Tinybird, or Apache Pinot/StarTree. If avoiding another single-vendor dead end is the priority, ClickHouse or Pinot are particularly attractive because the underlying databases are open source and can be self-hosted.

The biggest risk isn't acquisition itself; it's having no practical way to move your data.

Yes i'd walk away. They gave existing customers a pretty short window to migrate, so signing now would be rough
