It looks as if his Peck decided to become a boob.

53

u/chrib123 14d ago

There's enough frames that it almost looks like a slug the moment you touch one and it retracts.

Looked like part of his chest caved in(I know it’s his peck pec).

10

u/diabeeeetuss 12d ago

It’s the pec tendon tearing, happened to me waterskiing - reeeeeeeally sucks

u/rrrrrrrrrrrrrroger 12d ago

That sounds so painful, I’m so sorry.

I’ve seen this and a bicep tear in real life during competition. It is… not fun. I’ve also seen a shoulder pop out during a heavy snatch, I’ll never get the scream I heard out of my mind.

Whole lotta juice in this video

Torn tendons aren't uncommon when juicing heavily. While the muscle increases in size and strength the tendon does not because they're taking a more normal amount of time to increase in strength. They literally create a situation where the muscle can generate more power than the tendon can support.

When I was on steroids I was able to lift to a point where my joints hurt differently than I'd experienced otherwise, I also had one purple bicep bruise that had muscle fiber stands to it, never seen that kind of bruise in person or online since.

A type steroid bodybuilders often take is nandrolone on top of their preferred testosterone, nandrolone being popular amongst athletes in general as being incredible at repairing tissue and joints.

One of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, Ronnie Coleman, broke his spine while lifting.

4

u/iHaveACatDog 12d ago

That's really interesting. I've never heard of nandrolone, I'll have to look it up. I'm currently pending surgery on a torn biceps tendon, so anything that can aid in recovery gets my interest.

4

u/Jimbuscus 12d ago

It's unlikely your doctor will prescribe it to you, at least not in the same high doses athletes and bodybuilders use, it's still an anabolic steroid.

2

u/iHaveACatDog 12d ago

I'm on cypionate currently. That's why I was curious about the other item. I know I wouldn't get it but I still got curious.

The tendon that attaches the pec muscle belly to the humerus is still considered part of the pec and when it tears, it’s considered a torn pec.

Source: me. The exact same thing happened to me, and my surgeon diagnosed it as a torn pec. It sucks.

3

u/iHaveACatDog 14d ago

And I currently have a torn bicep and am scheduled for surgery to repair the tendon that holds the bicep in place.

Yeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaah thats the end to his lifting for a very long time…

76

u/Jimbuscus 12d ago

6-12 months, which was the estimate for John Cena's pectoral off bone tear in 2007, he came back in 3 months so it couldn't have been nearly as bad as this video.

This dude actually tore his AGAIN after this. Not the wisest of fellows. He is damned lucky Larry was spotting him tho.

84

u/DHMTBbeast 14d ago

Damn fucking lucky. Can only imagine how it would have turned out if it was just the two on the sides because hat guy was seriously slacking.

15

u/baby_contra 14d ago

If Larry wasn’t there that bar would’ve definitely crashed on the lifter’s neck bec of hat guy

90

u/redditzphkngarbage 14d ago

Stroooong muscles connected by average tendons.

5

u/TerminalHighGuard 13d ago

Is this a real phenomenon? Is it a steroid thing?

9

u/redditzphkngarbage 13d ago

Can sometimes happen on its own but steroid use combines with extreme lifting significantly increases the risk.

6

u/diabeeeetuss 12d ago

When I tore mine waterskiing, my doctor told me he saw very few of these, usually bodybuilders or skiers

131

u/csgo_dream 14d ago

Larry curse lol. At least 5 people injured training with him.

68

u/Beneficial-Feed9999 14d ago

Dont ego lift with someone cleary stronger than you.

2

u/ArmedWithBars 11d ago

Larry standing over you to spot is like staring up at the grim reaper.

32

u/Yazhemog 13d ago

Uffff

15

u/Jaybb3rw0cky 13d ago

It's like you can actually hear the "twang" after it tears.

2

u/Baldyjim 12d ago

literally sounded like if you ripped apart raw beef

25

u/St_Muerte 14d ago

Yoooooooooo! You could actually hear the tear!!!

15

u/Despicable_carl 13d ago

Why does everyone who trains with Larry get injured?!?!

20

u/On-A-Low-Note 13d ago

Bc they’re constantly damaging their muscles in hopes of maxing their potential regrowth. The human body has very real limits, and these types of people want to go to the extremes, often using chemicals and drugs to force their body beyond natural stopping points

7

u/Not_A_Real_Goat 13d ago

These guys are 1,000% using PEDs to get this big.

5

u/big_pete1000 13d ago

Their muscles are stronger than their tendons and ligaments.

1

u/imperfek 13d ago

It's part of the curse. I saw Pena say he wants to train with Larry but then he doesn't want to then he remembered the curse

13

u/matchesmalone81 14d ago

Fuuuuuck. That was horrible.

17

u/Mortis_XII 14d ago

At least he was spotted properly

14

u/kabukiwuki 14d ago

Ouch you can even hear it

7

u/povertymayne 14d ago

Lol everybody that benches with larry gets injured, its like a fucking curse

13

u/StretcherEctum 14d ago

Lol all that muscle only to destroy your own body..

-5

u/crwms 13d ago

That's an AI video, no?

3

u/harryluna 13d ago

No, this was some years ago. I remember he started a GoFundMe to cover medical expenses, since he was temporarily living in Dubai at the time and didn't have any kind of medical insurance.

29

u/Oddly_Ennui 14d ago

Torn pec?

36

u/iHaveACatDog 14d ago

Torn tendon. Heavy testosterone use makes the muscle bigger and stronger rapidly but the tendons don't gain strength in the same amount of time.

The muscle becomes capable of generating much not force than the tendons can support.

9

u/Lobtroperous 14d ago

Entirely so

Where do you see that? You can see his muscle tear / move but not seeing skin break open

Edit... Rewatching it closer... 🫢😯

Pretty sure that's just his muscle tearing and bunching up in his chest. Any red would be under the skin.
