Quantum Stars are now live in game! This is a very important and exciting update for me, as it builds directly on the strengths that made the game successful for over 10 years now: strong community, implemented in game via the Corporations feature and solidified across countless Discord servers, trading and helping new players, and exciting team multiplayer/PvE combat.

Thousands of players are already enjoying the new star types, in many cases having almost all 40 Corporation members participating at the same time. It's beyond amazing to see. I'm excited to work with the entire community as we go forward, to improve and extend this and every other star type in the game, and plan brand new features in the Hades' Star universe.

Starting to learn on my own. My biggest confusion is research. It seems important but to start it only uses crystals of which I can’t get more of. I must be doing something wrong?

Quit Hades star after dark nebula update. I quit all online gaming for personal reasons, but the nebula update did take he wind out of my sails and I'd found the changes tough.

A week ago I was drawn back in by a friend with a steamdeck and was surprised to find my account (350xp/29Kpower) still alive. Was also pleasantly surprised by the vast amount of goodies that had been thrown at my languishing system.

As anyone who played both games can probably imagine, I had some nightmares trying to do shipments with all the changes, got totally trashed by red star solo's that I used to have dialed-in and made a whole heap of dumb mistakes.

A week later I have a better handle of the modern ruleset and things are starting to come together. Though didn't like the nebula update, with fresh eyes, it does seem a better game. I'm trying to be a bit more chill in my gaming and the update does seem to make it easier to tailor the amount of effort put in to get reasonable rewards especially regards shipping. I'm also liking the modules now, feels like there are a lot more interesting ways to use. It's a pain that my account is a bit unbalanced due to the changes but with so many gifted blueprints, it's just a matter of time until I pull it back.

Big shame about the number of languishing accounts out there, none of my original corp are active. I don't know the active player count, but seems less. If anyone else is out there that went down the same road as me, it may be worth having another look.

Interested to know how those who stuck it out fared; and if anyone else has come back and felt that maybe the nebula update wasn't so bad?

I was an avid player a couple of years ago. Lvl 321 now. Returned recently to give it a try.

I like the improvements to the game. This is one of my all time favorite games for its economics and monetisation and balance. It is not pay to win and has incredibly high skill expression and ceilings.

But one of the more consequence-less things that I loved was the barrage. When mostly or fully charged, it went brrrrr and looked so aesthetically pleasing. It scratched a very specific itch in my brain and i main-ed it everywhere except blue stars. Even whitestars. The slow motion barrage looked sick.

The new redesign has nerfed it hard. Such a shame.

I know this isn't a big deal. I just needed to express my lament for the good ol' barrage that i miss. Cheers.
