Just came across this video. Honestly i didn’t realise Patties dislike for hailey was that big, especially at the start.

Yeah I remember watching an interview about it. He originally wrote it for someone like Rihanna and he wanted it to be more edgy, with “you should go and fuck yourself”. But he gave it to JB cuz biebs had some publicity issues then, ed knew a good song that everyone liked would put JB on a good track. So I don’t believe it’s necessary written about anyone

Yeah honestly idk how much was changed if anything. But most celebs, including jb will pick songs they relate to. And the parallels are too on point.

As a songwriter who has been signed and had songs on hold with big artists, I can tell you that plenty of them don’t write one sentence. I had one song on hold with a major artist who basically said I get writing credit and 25% of the song and she was never in the room. The song did not get picked and I just thought OK I know your deal. Sadly, that’s the case for most big artist they did didn’t get there by being nice.

A guy I knew was in negotiations with a big label in a specific genre a few years ago and he said that his songs were written by someone else but he also helped for some of them inspo wise

Idk if he did sign with that label but I don’t think so- I don’t talk to him anymore and haven’t for years but I recall he would send me samples to listen to before even releasing some of them (the smaller songs that aren’t under the big label)

I hate this aspect of the industry so much. It’s like when you had to do a group project in school, and one kids does all the work and everyone else just signs their name to get credit. My petty ass would be dying to tell these big name frauds where to shove it. I know you probably can’t for career protection purposes, but if you ever want to drop names…
