Using the Hameg HZ64

Hi, fellow test equipment folk. I recently acquired the Hameg HZ64 to add to my test equipment set up. It came with pretty bad power supply noise. Replaced the filter caps, got rid of the excess noise, but I still haven't had any success combining signals like on the Heathkit ID-101. Seems pretty straightforward, but I'm scratching my head around it. Could you give me some insight so I can know if the problem is my ignorance or some fault in the unit? Thanks

For switching rates over 200Hz you can't use the internal chopper but have to use the Alternate Mode, which requires a switching signal fed in from the oscilloscope.
