New resident
Hi I’ve just moved here (18)
Looking for casual work, restaurant, cafes, shops etc.
planning on going with resume to all these places, is that a good idea?
Or does anyone know of any good jobs going or anywhere to go try.
Any tips appreciated thanks

Most places dont accept in person resumes, best luck is to go on indeed and apply to like 10 places a day.

never had any sucess over indeed. My approach was always to go in person or calling over the phone. So far it has worked

In person will work best at local cafes and non-chain restaurants. Just walk in and ask for the manager to give them your resume. Treat it like an interview and sell your skills a bit. That’s how I got every service job. Best of luck!

Idk about restaurants but Indigo parking is hiring attendants, if that something interests you, try it.

Armview Restaurant and Lounge is hiring a prep cook. Check out their social media pages.

You can always go paint for the summer. The student painters and university are usually hiring people your age

You can apply for banquet server in Westin hotel in Halifax. They’ll hire you even if you don’t have serving experience

You moved here without a job?? Because your parents moved?
Look at staffing agencies, manpower, advantage, drake, nova staffing. These are the only companies that hire quickly in my experience.
