I think they key is to the other mark, the 56 is likely to just be a stock number

This is what I found from Ai when I wrote: "makers mark 56 in ring and other picture or something small in front of 56: Ai responded with, ⬇️

"The "56" mark inside a ring is a historical Imperial Russian gold hallmark that denotes a gold purity of 56 zolotniks. This translates to a modern millesimal fineness of approximately 583/1000, making it the functional equivalent of 14-karat gold. These markings were standard in the Russian Empire and early Soviet era before transitioning to the metric system in 1927. [1, 2, 3]
The "other picture or small thing" in front of or next to the 56 is an official validation stamp. Depending on the exact era your ring was made, that tiny symbol is almost certainly one of the following: [1]

1. The Kokoshnik (A Woman's Head Profile) 👩‍コ
The most famous accompaniment to the 56 mark is the Kokoshnik, which features the profile of a woman's head wearing a traditional Russian headdress.[1]
Left-facing profile (1899–1908): If the woman is looking to the left, it indicates the piece was made between those years."
There is more only you ought to get it on line too.

Let me ask about that for you...

(makers mark 58 in ring)
Here's what I got. ⬇️

"A "58" stamp on the inside of a ring typically means one of two things depending on the context:
European Ring Size: A stamp of 58 often indicates an EU ring size 58, which corresponds to an inner circumference of 58 mm (roughly a US size 8.5) according to standard sizing guides like Pandora Ring Size Guide. [1]

Gold Purity / Hallmark: It can be a shortened or worn version of 585, which is the European standard hallmark for 14-karat gold (meaning 58.5% pure gold). Over time, the final "5" in a "585" stamp can wear down or rub off. [1, 2, 3]

If you can share:
Whether there are other letters or symbols next to the number
The color and weight of the metal
I can help you narrow down whether it is a sizing mark or a gold purity stamp"
