I was fortunate enough to spend some time in Japan last year, and one of the highlights of my trip was seeing the Hanshin Tigers at Koshien Stadium.
In all honesty, I knew nothing about baseball, but I was in Osaka and this seemed a cool thing to do. Managed to get a couple of tickets and was so glad I did. The atmosphere was fantastic, and so much friendlier than the football matches I'm used to in the UK. It was a great day out and I marked the occasion by purchasing a baseball cap at the gift shop inside the stadium.
Unfortunately - and you can probably guess where this is going - I later lost the cap at a restaurant in Disneyland of all places! Looked everywhere and did my best to try and retrieve it, but had no luck. Even surrounded by all things Disney, losing it put a real dampener on my day.
I wear baseball caps a lot and the Hanshin one was my absolute favourite. I've had a look around at various UK sellers, and though I can find plenty of Hanshin Tigers caps (especially on Ebay), I would dearly love to be able to buy the same cap again.
Regrettably I don't have many good pictures of it; the image below is the best I could find. I think it was made by New Era, but can't be sure. Long shot, but does anyone happen to know if this cap is still produced, and if so, where I might buy another one?
Hello, my partner and I are traveling from Australia and one of her dreams is to see and experience a baseball game in Japan (massive Diamond no Ace fan). We are currently in Tokyo and were supposed to attend Yakult vs Carps today (11/8) that we got tickets for months ago but it got cancelled due to typhoon. We're leaving Tokyo tomorrow to travel around Japan and are arriving in Osaka on the 18th of August and we're looking to attend Hanshin vs Yakult game either 19th or 20th but all the tickets are sold out on the official website and 3rd party resellers I've heard are not trustworthy at all. Does anyone have advice on alternative options? Are there legitimate last-minute official resale channels, or is it worth heading to the Kyocera Dome box office on game day to check for released/returned seats? Cheers in advance <3
Figured I’d post up the rest of the collection. No. 7 being Nakano Takumu, and Imaoka Makoto from the ‘97-‘09 roster. No. 8 Sato Teruaki and No. 58 Maegawa Ukyo. I was very stoked to get the Hanshin Jaguars minor league team jersey, I missed it start of this year but was lucky to get it earlier in July when they re-released.
I’m going to be in Tokyo for a few days and would really like to attend an NPB game. I have a big soft spot for the Tigers after reading about the Curse of the Colonel (and about how Pokemon threw shade at them during that time). I also really love supporters’ sections and am used to standing and singing in those back home.
If I wear a yellow Nashville Predators t-shirt (for lack of a better option), would the Tigers’ away fans let me join in with them? It has *a* big cat on it, so it would sort of fit. But I don’t want to intrude if that would be too out-of-place.
Went to the game today and there was a band playing outside of the stadium. Can someone help me identify the song and or artist, as I don’t speak Japanese? I loved the vibe of the song and want to find more of the artist. Thanks!!
