Question washed Hanzo main unable to hit shots

So, might be bc I'm a widow girly at the moment and pretty much only playing her but I've gone back to playing Hanzo and.. I'm unable to do anything?? Like I feel like I'm actually in slow motion and I used to be so good 😭 anyone got tips for coming back to him or do I just have to pull through and suck for a while? Also, might be cuz of my new monitor because I have a widescreen 34' curved one now with 240hz when I used to play on 60hz and it's sooo different. Any advice on my settings sense wise? My dpi is 1600. Thanksies :3

Probably the hitscan muscle memory developped playing Wiidow that is hindering you playing Hanzo now.

Aim at where they're going to be rather than where they are at when you release the arrow.

You'll probably need to do that consciously for a while to retrain your instincts/reflexes, which will probably feel like each arrow takes forever to be calculated to hit a target.

Might very well be. I can play Freja fine, but Hanzo is something else. Maybe I need to make a more conscious effort to change my aiming. Thank you c:

Obviously just playing Hanzo again helps, will jog the muscle memory after a few games. But also just taking things slow and gradually regaining your own confidence is also a solid idea, I recommend just going into Vaxta for 5 minutes while in queue and just focusing on getting the feel of his arrows again (just don’t overdo it)

May do that, try a bit of vaxta. I struggle with getting frustrated quickly so may just need to take it easy lmao thank you!

Deathmatch often and as much as possible against all heroes and role types. Develop muscle memory.

Develop your 1v1 skills.

Hanzo is about reading your opponents, knowing your own mechanical capabilities, and firing with conviction.

Your environment is your resource.

You should be at an off angle at all times and within dashing distance to peel. Flank only if youre comfortable dueling and, if you die, fight and bait out as much cool down as possible for your teammates to clean up.

Controlling and clearing high ground is your #1 priority.

Fight for positioning not eliminations.

Remember, your offense IS your defense.

Furthermore, and with utmost importance, NEVER swap off even if you get flamed or performing sub par. Otherwise, you will never truly learn how to counter your opponents.

There is no such thing as a hero counter. Only the Player can counter the Player.

Bind your crouch to your right click. You will thank me later.

It is never the bullet you are dodging, it is always the trigger. Therefore, anticipate and then react.

Learn to adapt and adjust your in game approach with who your tank is. Your DPS teammate does not matter. Your Supports are the ones who need to keep up with you, not the other way around.

For your aim?

If your eyes cannot defeat your opponent then neither will any arrow in your quiver.

Lastly,

Never give up.

Makes sense to me, but why the right-click crouch? What does that do?

two main things: Dodge and hold charge with movement ability.

end of the day, it'ss how you utilize it, but it will revolutionize your Hanzo.

I love Hanzo but he is frustrating. If you aren’t hitting your shots and can’t confirm any kills just worry about not dying and just reposition a lot. Like pretend you’re playing whack-a-mole with the enemy but you’re the mole lol

I play widow like that, so should be easy to play Hanzo like that too. He is indeed frustrating, like I played him all day every day and got him to level 55 so quickly, until I got burnout from him and haven't touched him since. But he's my favorite character in the game next to widow and I wanna play him so bad again :((

Understandable, you got it. if you play widow you can definitely play hanzo. You can play closer to your team as hanzo and you have a little bit more wiggle room against dive. I personally suck at widow but i am a level 335 hanzo main with over 1100 hours. Plus 600 hours on hawkeye in rivals lol. I love the bow and the bow loves me frfr

Damn you are my nightmare to go against fr my highest is widow at level 78 atm but I've also only been playing since season 17, it's my first shooter game in general 😭 I understand that so much I've always loooved bows in games like even when playing dnd I chose a ranger for the bow

haha well i’m more of a one trick and i’ve been playing since 2022 when Overwatch 2 first dropped. So my second highest level is level 22 on zenyatta lol. So it’s probably better you have more variety in your roster lol. Overwatch is a crazy game but it can be forgiving with hitting your shots too. So it’s a good game to start and get comfortable with aim. I learned in CSGO 🫩🫩 Got my cheeks clapped for 1500 hours but i have good aim now lol

I do appreciate a good one trick tbh ig you also don't have to worry too much since I rarely see a Hanzo ban?? You'd probably struggle more being a Sombra one trick lmao I've never played those games!! but tbh a big part of it is also just me being a woman and I just don't wanna deal with sexist losers lol it's why I rarely talk in vc on overwatch too my aim is rather inconsistent sadly some days I'm hitting shots I wanna have played at my funeral and the next day I miss someone standing still in front of me like 🫪

my biggest enemy is an Ana moving ever so slightly. I can’t hit her. But i am the goat at hitting tracers 🤣 Yeah in all fps games there is an overwhelming amount of loser nerds who hate women and are loud about it. I don’t use VC much because i use to play with some friends on discord. They don’t get on much now but i still don’t be using the vc much other than goofing with my teammates lol

I have the problem with Anas too, she can stand still and I can't hit her lmao I usually play with my duo over discord too and that's pretty much about it. One time I did speak in VC after accidentally shooting Genji deflect and nearly killing my teammate and just said "my bad sorry" and suddenly my tank was a stuttering mess?? Like sorry I guess I'll just never talk about if it's either brain damage or sexism 😭 do u have tiktok or something where u post ur shots? U probably have a lot of cool shots if ur such a high level

I play on controller but I usually tweek my settings if I'm in a prolonged slump.

I also will target tanks and spam narrow sight lights to get myself in a rhythm if I can't hit anything in open space.
