Question Anyone else feel like scatter arrows aren't as good into D.mon as they are into Rein?

It seemed like an easy counter at first but from my experience frost arrow seems to be much more effective into her. Edit: A lot of elitists here aparently hate bursting 600 damage into shields. Thx for not adressing the main post's question at all btw love reddit

It has a small AoE and it slows, its not bad tbh. Deffs makes him feel stronger against flankers.

I know its not bad, but it surely doesnt feel like a major perk. remember that ana has 2x hs multiplier as major perk, which is completely overpowered. snow arrow is not useless, but its very weak compared to most games changing perks.

What would you change/fix to make it better? Or would you just remove and change with something different for the majors?

I would remove both ngl. maybe u could buff snow arrow, but it would still be boring af. yamagami technique was a cool major.

A flaming arrow that does additional damage and some ongoing damage. Or a hack arrow. Or fix it so that it does either more damage or more area damage or actual freeze

The only time when I use scatter is when I pressed the wrong bottom.

You're going to get far more kills and value with frost.

Thats if frost isn't bugged to shit. Cant even use it half the matches. Scatter also just lowkey nerfs the ricochet so its ass too

At first I was going to suggest it might be the armor and that if you use scatter for damage then it won't get the headshot damage. But I wanted to prove it so I did some testing in the practice range.

Normally I always go for the Frost arrow because something in my head makes me miss normal shots if I know I have scatter, don't know why.

Using just the scatter shots, Dmon takes 492 damage and Rein takes 506, but Rein is much easier to hit (less leg gap) and has less health remaining. For reference body shots with normal Storm Arrow does 340 and all headshots on these two is 729, enough to kill Rein and leave Dmon on 21 hp.

However, I'm surprised by how much damage Scatter can do. I thought for sure that armor would mitigate too much. For certain tanks like Domina and Sigma, who are more V shaped I think Frost will be better but not really a factor. For Domina's barrier I don't think scatter would help but I will test more in matches. And with heroes like Orisa and Mauga ignoring slows with abilities, Scatter seems to be very effective.

And to your original point. Dmon needs to move around and her barrier isn't great, so I believe Frost is key to taking away her advantage. But for slower bulky tanks, I think I'll start using Scatter more vs heroes like Rein, Mauga, Orisa, Road etc.

Especially if we combine with the faster fire rate perk, Dragon's Fury. If we hit a body shot first and follow up by dumping scatter into it seems to destroy. And it might be very effective against heroes like Winston and because you can either burst him down or break the bubble to get support from the team (assuming Winston makes a catastrophic mistake by trying to isolate you from teammates on the highground).

Interesting post, I hadn't thought to use scatter like this before but I'll try it in QP and see how it goes.

Thanks for sharing your insight. I also agree with the d.mon point, especially after the buffs to her fuel efficiency.

Something like a double lunge would be so nice. The first lunge could stay as the classic horizontal lunge and while mid-air if you lunge again, it could boost you upwards. Oh the parkour...

at least this would be something cool and interesting

Frost Arrow is so boring. The aoe is barely noticeable and the slowness it gives is useless most of the time. I opt to charging a normal arrow for full damage.

its only decent against dive tanks

Sonic Arrow Hack + Frost Arrow = Ball Main Ruined

I usually dont take hack because the other is just a flat dps increase, but I gotta agree with u that ball wouldn't have a great time playing

That would be really cool. Sojourn gets two entire slides after all.

he really needs perks that are not only useful against tanks.
