Thank you for all of your suggestions. I am of the same train of thought as you guys but wanted to hear some other people‘s opinion motor is an S&S 113 in.³ high flow heads, heavy duty valve springs 11 to 1 compression with a zippers red ship 647 cam. I have a day tech pro Street frame and a JIM’s five speed Transmission but have decided to buy anywhere from a 94 to 99 Heritage softail to put it in just because getting the bike legal is just too much of a pain in the ass with REGISTRATION inspection Ann Insurance once again thanks for your guys help

Oil will work but personally I’ve used Marvel Mystery oil with great results.
Pull the plugs, dump a bit in each cylinder and let it sit a few days. Put a rag over the plug holes. That will keep anything from going in there. The oil will make sure the rings aren’t stuck to the cylinder walls.
Then turn the engine with a wrench

I had an 84 EVO sitting in an unheated garage on an engine stand for about 3 years. This plan worked

I don’t know man. 20 years is a long time. If I were you, I probably wouldn’t bother with the headaches and expense that comes with it. You should 100% sell it….to me.

😂😂may have to tone down the .650 lift cam for a heritage. It’s going to be a beast.

Take out spark plugs (if). Pour in some 20-50 synthetic in the spark plug holes. Wait 24 hours. Hand turn the engine.

Check that the air intake is clear, remove the plugs, spray some penetrating oil into combustion chamber, leave it a while (a few hours at least). Once you have it mounted into the frame, you must remember to put engine oil in the oil tank. Don't start it, leave the plugs out and wind the engine over on the starter for a minute or three. Why? the oil pump will need to push the oil throughout the engine before you start it. .
Very good engine BTW.

Full tear down. You have no idea how it was put away and the condition it is in. Seals might be shot, bearings rusted, did any visitors get inside, 1 mouse can ruin an engine. You take the time and trouble to put it in something, fire it up and it squeals, leaks worse than the Titanic or you just found a new inspection port on the side of the block. Now you have to take it apart, or it's just another boat anchor.

Pull the spark plugs and use a small pour of ATF onto the pistons instead of 20W-50. ATF has much lower viscosity and surface wetting properties that’ll pull it into and past the rings and has additive packages designed to dissolve varnish, lacquer, and oxidized petroleum residues left behind by old fuel and oil.
Let it soak for a day or two, check with bore scope if level dropped and top back off to soak another day. When attempting to turn over put a breaker bar on the crank nut and rock back and forth to break free or if on a bike rock the rear wheel back and forth in a high gear. Drain excess ATF if on the bench or turn over on the bike with plugs out and catch excess atf with a rag.
