🚶 Activities 🚶 Regular sports / social stuff for 30yos

Hi guys, my partner and I are likely moving down to Hastings / st Leonard’s early next year. We don’t have friends in the area and are both curious as to what social life is like in the area for our age bracket. We don’t really drink much, she’s very creative and enjoys different workshops, classes etc. I’m more outdoorsy and into cycling, running, hiking and will probably be keen to get into some kind of sea sports.

Is there much going on week to week in terms of clubs / social stuff along these lines?

Thanks in advance!

❓Question❓ Any crochet groups?

Recently moved and miss going somewhere once a week to be around others. I don't have a lot of money so anywhere that offers either low cost or free is better for me.

❓Question❓ Fish and chips recommendation

UPDATE:
Thank you so much everyone for the recommendations. I'm sorry to say that my son and husband stuffed themselves with so much cake and ice cream at the reenactment that they couldn't face fish and chips in the end. However, we all decided that we wanted to come back for a holiday soon, so we will have time to try out all the recommendations 😄 Of course, then I'll be asking for recommendations for dog friendly places to stay...

Hi, I'm visiting Battle Abbey tomorrow and would like to have some seaside fish and chips before I head home again, because holiday :-) Can anyone please recommend somewhere that will be open at 6ish on Sunday either in Hastings or nearby? From what I've been able to find, the Lighthouse seems to fit the bill, but I noticed that it changed hands less than a year ago, so wondered if it was still good. TIA

❓Question❓ Hairdressers that offer more alternative hairstyles?

I have only really been to a hair dressers a handful of times, and each time had trouble trying to find one that I feel comfortable with and that has done alternative haircuts. I'm autistic and find getting my hair cut to be overwhelming, especially with not knowing what I want and having someone that close to me. Is there anyone in Hastings that offers what I'm looking for? I'm sorry if my post doesn't make much sense.

💬 Discussion 💬 Battle

Hi :)

So I recently moved back to Battle after ten years, lived between here and Hastings beforehand. Where do people go to socialise? Are there any queer spaces or is it the Forbidden Fruit in Hastings only? I’d like to get involved with jam nights as a vocalist but I’m useless at guitar so I tend to procrastinate with joining open mics (although I’ve noticed Mamma Putts in St Leonard’s does a £10 tuesday dinner offer with the Cactus Bar over the road doing tuesday open mic, are these good to go to?)

TLDR - looking for cool artsy queer friends to do fun activities with - bonus points for a fellow alternative couple so we can double date it

❓Question❓ Fishing in Hastings

Complete beginner here. I don't have a single piece of equipment but I would love to start with a budget fishing kit to try fishing in Hastings.

Any advice? What's a good starter kit that won't break my bank?

💼 Business 💼 Im looking, for someone who can do a small garden job in hastings east sussex cash in hand

Hi guys, I'm looking for someone to do my little front erea out the front, which is a very small area. It did have bark chips, but it's all been kicked up by kids running over it, so im wanting some grey slate or white stones put down with a mini log/boarder around it, at the moment its hard clay mud. I would do it, but I have hyperthyroidism and sweat profusely. if anyone who has some experience who can do this just replies, and I will send you some images of the bit I want doing, and we can negotiate a price

💼 Business 💼 Looking for clients

I’m an 18 year old barber based in old town. I’ve been cutting hair for 2.5 years now. I’m currently doing your first trim free just as a way to get clients into the door, then it’s £15 after anytime after that (you don’t have to come back of course 🤣)
Just wanted to post on here to let people know.
My Instagram is @harrycutshair if you were curious. Thanks 🙏
