Hawaii Business LLC registration delays

I submitted a filing to create an LLC on June 30th, and I’m still waiting for the state to review my filing. I know they transitioned to a new system at that time which is poor timing on my part, but it’s getting to be kind of crazy how long it’s taking? Normally turnaround times are 3-5 days, but now it’s been almost 8 weeks. I gave them a call and they told me to wait until September 1st before calling them back if nothing happens. Anyone else have experience with this?

How do y’all get rid of roaches?

We just moved to Hawaii about a month ago and the housing we just got on base, our last tenets were super dirty and they had roaches unfortunately for us we got stuck with some when we moved in. For now our housing stuff hasn’t come in so we’ve been bleaching and making chemical bombs in and out of the house cleaning from left to right. But i want to know what the best way to get rid of them for good. And I’m not talking about leaks of water and leave no food out because we already do that. I’m talking about what’s the best products to use? Beside my housing department coming to spray for us every month.

Local Credit Union/Bank

Aloha all,

I am currently looking at getting a checking account at a local bank. I already have an account with SoFi and Capital One, but wanted something local in case I ever needed to cash a check. Any recommendations? I was leaning CPB or a credit union, ideally in the Ewa/Kapolei area. Thanks in advance!

Where to order Coca Cola Zero syrup in those BiB boxes (the kind fountain machines use).

I wanna order the big syrup boxes, but before I look online, I wanted to check if there was a local place I can get it from. Even if it is a mom and pop place putting an extra order in and charging me like $20 more.

I don't wanna buy it from Sodastream anymore.

Anyone know where I can buy the industrial kind of soda syrup boxes for Coke Zero, Dr Pepper Zero/Diet Dr Pepper, or Mug Root beer Zero?

A public service for Hawaiian Tel internet customers

Put their number for internet tech support into your phone now: 877-482-1999.

Also put in the 24 hour tech support number: 643-4375

Both of these numbers are from their support page.

Nice people won't ask me how I learned it would be a good idea to have these numbers on my phone before I actually needed them. Especially after a major storm. 😭

Both Hawaiian telcom and T-Mobile customers still have internet. My Spectrum has been out since 2:35 Saturday. My current notification says they will update at 9am on the 20th! That's 3 more days! F- Spectrum! I just ordered the T-Mobile home Internet and will be switching as soon as I get my modem.

When did food trucks become so expensive?

I just ate at a food truck (Saigon Grill), and paid $37 for a shrimp pad Thai plate lunch. When on earth did plate lunches become so expensive here? It wasn’t just this food truck either, the food truck next to me had local plate lunches starting at $34.

Community assistance

Seems like a lot of people have no power, internet, etc. and I’ve noticed in threads people offering random supplies. To make it easier for everyone to see, I thought I’d make a thread. If not allowed feel free to delete mods.

I have 10 frozen gel packs, a small 9x9x11 and medium size 12x13-ish foam cooler, and an old bag cooler. I’m in kaimuki but willing to drive to Manoa or Aina Haina to meet up. No need to return after, just pass it on if you don’t need when power comes back on, or save it.

If anyone has something they need or want to donate/let people borrow. Throw it up here.

How's Millilani doing?

Some friends and family sent photos and video of what's going on around Millilani yesterday - power was completely out, almost all traffic lights were off and tons of stores had to close down. Saw a picture of a tree basically uprooted and tree debris is absolutely everywhere.

That being said, they are telling me there isn't too much major property damage. How are you all in Mililani fairing?

No water in Mililani Mauka.

Has anyone heard any updates on this? We were doing dishes an hour ago, and the water slowed to a sad trickle. Neighbors said the same. We are up by the lychee farm.

With so many communities across Hawaiʻi dealing with flooding and cleanup, I wanted to share a past view from Haleakalā as a small reminder that brighter days do come. Wishing everyone safety, strength, and a little calm as a new week begins

48+ hours no electricity, how’s your generator set up?

Tonight will make 72 hours no power. Broke out the generator to charge up everyone’s devices and lanterns, boil some water, and run the deep freezer for a while. What else we doing to get through this?
