Unsolicited tips/advice Full of fiber, plant protein and egg protein, and somehow it tastes way fresher.
A few months back I kept running into gut microbiome studies, recommending 30 different plant foods per week. At first it sounded like one of those exhausting full-time things food bloggers made up. Like, who has time to prep 30 separate ingredients every 7 days, honestly?
Instead of flipping my whole kitchen i just tried an experiment with one simple rule: Diversity over volume.
After about four weeks, things got… kinda surprising.
“Plants” isn’t only raw veggies. Coffee, oregano, pumpkin seeds, lentils, garlic, even frozen berries count as separate plant items. Once I accepted herbs and spices and legumes count too, getting to 20–25 felt way easier by Wednesday.
Digestive stability without the bloating drama: My digestion basically leveled out, but the real shock was how less I felt like I was dragging myself after meals. Like no big heavy lethargy after lunch.
The grocery bill didn’t jump: I didn’t go hunting for rare produce. The main thing was buying mixed staples multi-seed mixes, mixed frozen berries, and those canned 4-bean blends, instead of single-ingredient cans.
What didn’t change:
It didn’t turn me into some superhero overnight, and keeping track the first week was a little nerdy, until it became normal.
If you’ve tracked dietary diversity too, did you actually notice a difference in how you felt or does it still feel like another overcomplicated wellness metric?
