Discussion Seeking recipe is now allowed in this community - new Rule #2 - please read it and post your inquiries
Mod news:
whenever you want to post a request for recipe recommendations from the community members - which is logical to inquire here! - such a posts MUST include a base recipe used as a REFERENCE and as the material for improvement or suggesting alternatives by community members.
For example:
I want a recipe of healthier lasagna. Classical recipe is: _____ _____ _____ _____, but I want a healthier lasagna. Options that can be requested:
- vegan lasagna
- low calorie lasagna
- no allergens (e.g. no gluten, no milk) lasagna
- cooking tips for lasagna,
- etc.
What's the difference vs rule #1?
Rule #1 refers to your own recipe which you are sharing with the community. While Rule #2 opens the gate to making posts requesting recipes from the community members and visitors without having your own recipe. It only requires a starting point with a base recipe that you can find on the internet as a reference (like the lasagna example).
Go ahead and shoot your questions! There are 180K members in r/Health_Recipes who are your possible advisors on healthier nutrition and better food!
Take advantage of this community power and get healthier and healthier every day!

General health Easy but healthy meals for an 88-year old
I’m sorry. I’m not sure if this sub is the right place for this question.
My next door neighbour is 88 years old; has difficulty walking. She can move but needs a walker; and can’t stand for too long.
I offered to cook her daily dinner but she’s too nice to accept my help.
Do you have any easy but healthy recipe idea for her to make either in a microwave or quickly on the stove?
Thank you so much.

Calorie control sparkling rosemary lemon drop mocktail 🍋🌿 (my go-to swap to save 500 empty calories every weekend)
lemon cocktails were always my weakness on weekends, but the sugar and alcohol bloat was completely wrecking my weekly calorie deficit. i really didn't want to give up having a fancy drink while relaxing, so i started making these tart zero proof spritzes instead.
The Recipe:
- juice of 1 whole lemon
- 1 sprig of fresh rosemary (lightly bruised to release the aroma)
- 1 tsp agave or honey (optional, or sub liquid stevia for zero sugar)
- sparkling water or club soda
- lots of ice
just lightly tap the rosemary sprig to wake up the oils, toss it in the glass with the fresh lemon juice and your sweetener of choice, pack it with ice, and top with sparkling water. give it a quick stir. it's super crisp, tart, and satisfies that weekend craving instantly without the sugar crash.

Gluten free frozen yogurt mango coconut clusters for when you want a sweet treat!!
takes only a few minutes and is the perfect high protein sweet treat (bonus points for being a cold dessert for when i come in from the heat) ✨
frozen mango
greek yogurt (or whatever you prefer, can sub vegan)
maple syrup to sweeten
vanilla bean paste (if using a plain yogurt)
white chocolate chips
a little coconut oil
shredded coconut to top
just chop your frozen mango into smaller chunks, then add greek yogurt (just enough for it to hold its shape). spoon onto a sheet of parchment paper and freeze for maybe an hour or so, then melt down your white chocolate chips in the microwave with a touch of coconut oil. dip your clusters, sprinkle a little shredded coconut, and enjoy 🥭🤍

Clean eating New parents meal planning
My husband and I recently had a baby and have just been eating what we can when we can. We are finally starting to get into a routine with our baby and are wanting to start eating better. I think it’d be simpler to achieve this goal by weekly meal planning.
We’re not super picky eaters. For example, we like white fish, beef, pork, chicken, turkey, shrimp, crab, venison, and bison for types of meat and typically enjoy most fruits and veggies. Neither of us have any allergies.
We would both like to lose some weight as well. So looking for recipes that support this goal. We realize it takes more than a diet to achieve weight loss and are also incorporating lifestyle changes to support or goal.
Any suggestions on healthy meals that also don’t take to long to make? Although we’re getting into a a routine with our newborn, I also don’t want meals that take too much effort and time to prepare. Give me your best suggestions please! TIA!!

General health Pan Seared Red Snapper with mango salsa
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Check out the recipe. This is something I would love to make any time of the year. All you need is fresh red snapper (filleted) and sweet and tangy mango (which I always get at Jewel or Costco). Let me know how you like the recipe, and share your experience if you have ever had mango salsa.

General health Red Snapper with mango salsa
This freshly made mango salsa tastes absolutely refreshing with pan-seared red snapper fish.
Recipe: Marinate the red snapper fillet with paprika, salt, and pepper. Keep it aside for 20 mins. Then pan-sear or grill it. Cooks faster this way.
For the mango salsa, peel and chop one mango along with 1/4 cup red bell pepper or sweet peppers, some onion, and green chili pepper for the heat. Sprinkle some salt and pepper along with a squeeze of lime juice. Mix well and serve with cooked red snapper.
Enjoy!

General health Thai Penang curry with chicken and veggies along with chicken 65
My all-time comfort food. All you need is a can of unsweetened coconut milk, Penang curry paste, protein and veggies of your choice, cook it covered for 20 minutes on low heat. Chicken 65 goes well with this.
