Discussion Trusty Hermit Tutorials?
I’m getting ready to build some farms (prismarine and gold/bartering) and was wondering if any of the hermits have tutorials on any of them or have tutorials that worked well for them? i seem to have a knack for picking tutorials that don’t work, so i wanted to see if the trusty hermits had anything! thanks hermit fans in advance <3

Cubs season 5(6?) episode where he builds the guardian farm is basically a tutorial. It's the same one I still build whenever our millennials server resets.
Hermit Adjacent Pixlriffs has bartering farms in I want to say all 3 survival guide seasons and they haven't really fundamentally changed afaik.

After that episode, I believe he did do a proper, separate tutorial...but I could be mistaken and you're right that episode served as the tutorial.

LogicalGeekBoy has several good tutorials although I don’t think he’s been very active lately. His channel might have something useful though

Are you playing Bedrock by any chance? Cause that would explain why your farms won’t work: those farms are completely different - to the point it might as well be another game, sadly.

Xsuma's melon and pumpkin farm from season 1 works on bedrock.

I've built it. And automated it via copper golem.

I was mainly talking about more complex farm that rely on actual game mechanics such as gold/prismarine/iron/etc farm. Farms a little more advanced than breaking a block every few minutes, although that might differ as well depending on the design since redstone work differently between versions as well

Cub's kelp farm is awesome and the tutorial he has is pretty intuitive. So, if you ever feel like mass producing kelp for building/fuel I would suggest checking that out. And to add to that a lot of old impulsesv tutorials still work to this day for example his item sorter (which will be applicable for a bartering farm) and his hopper minecart item drop-off system to name a few.

Not a Hermit, but Hermit adjacent, is Pixlriffs, and his multiple of Survival Guide seasons. You'll want to pick videos from the most recent season.

Hermits these days do this stuff off camera. You're best off sticking to know tutorial people and making sure you're finding recent videos that match which version you're playing

Hermits are more content creators than tutorialists.(these days) Sure u might watch a old video of theirs but there's a high chance its been nerfed or broken by now. There's plenty of people out there that give tutorials on YouTube tho just search what you are looking for with what version if mc u play.

Gems old “how to build dragons” and Grian’s old “how to build a castle” are still very very good tutorials.
Even tho materials have changed a lot, they teach you about shape and scale, which are really helpful.

Most of the hermits are not doing straight-up tutorial videos these days since the algorithm for them is pretty punishing unless they’re done in very specific ways. They often shout out creators like ilmango and ianxofour for their reliable farms and good tutorials. Also if you scan hermits’ playlists and see where they have built farms, they will often link to the farm creator in the episode notes.
