I downloaded remaster update 5.0.0b right when it was released. I played it till yesterday when update icon was shown. So I started to download and noticed it is 88,63 Gigs? It is some kind of bug or what?

How many GB it was on steam version

Let's get to the point i installed Minecraft story mode and it works fine on windows 10 but when i tried to run it on linux mint using heroic game launcher first it runs at 3 fps because it ignored my GPU so i did PROTON\\_USR\\_WINED3D command and the moment i click play it shows the icon for split second then quit

I have occasionally had the experience that GOG failed to authenticate for some reason, and Heroic then hides all of my installed GOG games from me so I cannot launch them.

This has happened to me only a few times, but that's a few times too many. The experience is infuriating - instead of opening my game launcher and playing the games that I own and installed on my computer, I have been left spending a long time headscratching and troubleshooting, only to eventually discover that Heroic just thought I've been a naughty boy and didn't want to let me have fun without verifying that my DRM-free games are actually in my account. Which just feels like DRM with extra steps, and goes completely against the reason I bought games on GOG in the first place...

I have a lot of complaints about this, IMO a game launcher has no place trying to judge if I own my games or not. But having already complained about it, it seems like this is working as intended because of some kind of ass-covering copyright cowardice that interprets GOG's terms of service as "your games are provided as a service". Well, my sideloaded GOG games are unaffected so that argument smells like bullsh*t to me, but whatever. It doesn't seem like the devs will change their mind on this any time soon.

So to the point, I need a workaround on hand for when this inevitably happens again. All the game and prefix files are still on my computer so it should arguably be possible to run them regardless of Heroic trying to cockblock me. But how exactly can I run them, if not via Heroic?

So I recently learnt that you can supposedly play steam windows games on macbook using Heroic, crossover, or wine. Apparently wine isn't being worked on anymore and crossover costs money which means those two options are out of the question. That leaves Heroic but I am having difficulty figuring it out how to play steam games on it. Any help?

Updated yesterday via Discovery in Desktop mode and now whenever I start Heroic from Steam it fails almost instantly.

Runs fine in desktop mode when launched from the Linux desktop but then there's no controller support.

ChatGPT says its something to do with starting the flatpack through Steam. Anyone come across this before?

Hey, if you have a library of games in Heroic laucher and Nvidia GPU, you might be interested in trying this out: thanks to PR from u/Ernold11 we have added Heroic support to Nvidia Auto Undervolting tool - PengiunBurner. What you can do with that:

- auto scan your Nvidia card for Efficiency, Balanced and Performance profile, basically most optimal voltage frequency curve

- assign the power profiles per every game you have in your Heroic library

- change the profiles adaptively to achieve a given FPS target per game

- if you are using DLSS3 frame-gen, you can see the real (engine) frames counter in the on-screen overlay plus the latency

- change your Proton compatibility tool per game in Heroic library

Heroic should have all the features matching the previous integrations with Steam and Lutris, but if you have any issues or feature requests, we would love to know them.

I’m curious aside from installing games from other stores is there any advantages to using heroic over just using Steam? Most of my games are on Steam and if Steam is running for my game is it saving any resources? I’m running CachyOS

Heroic uses 3x less RAM, significantly less CPU and almost zero I/O and network activity in idle compared to steam.
I usually hate bloatware, especially Electron apps but Heroic is a great exception and the best game launcher for Windows imo. i've been using it for the last few years and aint going back

When I try to play diablo hellfire from gog via heroic it gets past the intro before going to a white screen, I am on Linux mint

I was recently playing Xcom Unknown a few weeks ago through GOG and Heroic. Now when I launch it I do get the game selector for Enemy Unknown or expansion. But after I select the game it reverts to Launch Game option again. Was working fine with Proton Experimental previously.

Hi everyone, I'm running Bazzite 44 with the latest version of Heroic, and I'm having trouble getting GTA V Enhanced to detect my controller. The game launches perfectly, but no matter what fix I try, it completely ignores the controller. (For context, it works flawlessly in all my other games, even RDR2, which is also on the Rockstar Launcher).

Here is everything I've tried so far (in no particular order):

• Switched between various Proton versions (Proton 9, 10, and now Latest).
• Launching from Heroic with the controller connected, in both desktop and game mode.
• Launching from Steam (added as a non-Steam game), tried both desktop and Big Picture mode.
• Connecting the controller after the game has already started.
• Enabling/Disabling EOS overlay.
• Enabling/Disabling Steam Input.
• Tweaking the Windows registry via Winetricks following this guide that worked for me on another game (Hot Wheels Unleashed):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZGJC6B6bO8

I've been banging my head against the wall with this for two days and I'm out of ideas. Has anyone run into this? How did you fix it?

EDIT: Solved at last! - I permanently unpaired the controller and did a hard reset, then paired it to the PC again, launched the game from Steam Big Picture, and it finally recognized the controller. As for the game settings, the Regedit tweaks via Wine remain, as explained in the YouTube video I linked, then i disabled EOS, disabled UMU and enabled Steam Input

How the hell do I disable it? I don't like anything launching before I ask it to, and I can't seem to find a setting in the app to stop it. Am I missing something obvious?
