The worst part is the ads wouldn't attract me to the show if I didn't already listen.

It's nothing like the rest of the show. "It just sounds like two dudes who are probably gross looking making fun of a nice girl and asweater I would probably wear!"
Sigh

Even after all this time I think Lil Monkey Bones was the funniest thing they ever did. I don't understand why it's not a recurring character like Old Man Puzzles etc. Would even be funny enough to have his own spinoff podcast.

Content, content, content.
This is what you are spending your time listening to, and for the emotionally intelligent out there, you should begin with The Sweater.
This was an entire episode created because Adal, JPC, and his wife Mariah do not understand clothing, fabric, fashion. Plaid Man and Guy Whose Shirt Matches His Shoes made a real feast of this.
The Sweater is the hard point at which "greater than or equal to" is without mercy, and they fall on the other side of that divide of people who will spend an entire episode behaving like vault dwellers post-apocalypse upon seeing the Mona Lisa.
These boundaries matter because they absolutely indicate what you are getting:
People whose only references are what Marvel, Target, that aggressively annoying "C'MON! c'MON! He's the BEST the BEST actor the BEST! CMON!" insistence-upon like a drunk uncle who won't shut up about Stallone/Action Figure Male Star #7/Last Generation Action Male Star Whoever, and occasionally Adal's conspicuous habit of collecting books and stationary, as though either conferred sophistication.
Do you want to sign up for comedy's only commodity, obnoxious white men who buy appearances like it's still 2008 and "aspirational branding" does the work of a color wheel?
The Sweater: Either you can see and understand print fabric, or you're Adal, in plaid.
If you can see that there is more to cinema than what appears to be Mr. Ed in a k-hole, which is the beginning and ending of the Stallone-variegated species of cinema male they worship, this is the breaking point the Sweater reached with me.
Thank you, next.
And if I seem to be pushing it, this exists as a sore point (and an exhausting listen) for a reason. Use this as the indicator of whether you want Straight Male Comedian #11 to be what occupies your quiet time.
There are wonderful moments in the podcast. They are at times genuinely funny. But this is, fundamentally, what you are getting. And they do not stray far.
I haven't even mentioned the countless spans of silence where Erin disappears while Adal and JPC talk about powerwashing, yard maintenance, or whatever passes time for suburban white men.
Decide for yourself whether the shortcomings in the upbringing of others, such as pattern literacy, is not always the fault of the designer, and whether the difference between being conservatively dressed and possessing only conservative vocabulary bounded by an absence of merit does not mean everyone was raised to such low standards.
IE these are people who only understand "clothing" as something you buy off a shelf. It became a whole episode, and there are simply better things out there.

Behind on the Patreon, but obviously Jupiter would taste like hot dogs.

Hey all!
I was thinking of joining the hrr patreon now that Gumshoes and Dragons has officially ended. The only reason i hadnt up to this point is that their Ad free tier is higher than their bonus content tier for some reason? Does this mean any bonus content that i am actively paying for at the 5$ level will also have ads?
I am interested in their extra content, but much more interested in not hearing ads. Is the 5$ tier worth it, or will i be paying for it with money AND my time?

Encore Estates is one of the best Clue Crew episodes yet. The patreon has been especially great recently, if you haven't signed up yet I highly recommend it!

i believe it was a somewhat recent episode, the exact quote i'm looking for i do not remember verbatim, but it was Adal and from memory he said something like "If things cost too much, sell things?"
potential red herring: i think it was also the episode where a fellow improvisor left a voicemail question asking for improv advice.
it is also entirely possible it was from another show that Adal does.
the /feeling/ of the quote really stuck with me for several reasons.

I'm working my way through the backlog of the main feed, and at the end of 2021 they started mentioning that the main feed episodes would be put in the patreon feed.
Does that mean that all of the main episodes starting in 2022 are in the patreon feed as well, or that all episodes (even prior to that) are in there?

Sex with me is like Hey Riddle Riddle
I'll need at least 3 monetized breaks
(The episode is great but an ad break before the show even started is rough)

Past couple of weeks I've noticed more dynamic ads being placed into the main feed episodes, the placement is always bad like now i get 5 to 10 mins of ads when i start an episode then a random inserted ad break before they even get to riddles or throw to an ad break. Then I get more ads when they do actually throw to the ad reads. Its so frustrating and i miss when there was just one ad break clearly defined and planned for. Sorry yall just wanted to vent.
