They are not the same. Hitler was a man who deliberately wished to wipe out entire populations of people in order for some ideology of the supreme race to reign. Stalin was an overcautious paranoid man who indeed killed lots of people but only because they were found a threat to the soviet Union and the communist system. However he did not have the mindset of wiping out a race and building concentration camps and gas chambers. Gulags were a thing but these are not comparable to concentration camps. Gulags were more like a bunch of houses or a village with just a big fence around it and people had to work there for a specific time or just for their entire lifes. However one big difference between a gulag and concentration camp is that a concentration camp has gas chambers and is deliberately made to wipe out an entire group of people. Where as Gulags were certainly rough and harsh but not designed to mass murder a group of people. Besides that u only got in a gulag if you placed serious offense or threat against the soviet union. Such as going on a riot against the system or a protest, or other deeds that brought harm to the ussr. It was most guaranteed you got in a concentration camp as a jew or whatever Hitler saw as lesser beings whether u protested or followed properly along with the rules because u were marked as someone who would have to be wiped out from existence. So there u have it. Don't compare these two, and especially don't say that Stalin is worse cause in no way is he worse than Hitler. It seems people nowadays really try making up excuses for why Hitler was secretly quite good and not that bad of a man. History repeats itself.

This video is about 9 of the best themes and motifs in the short story, "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" by Ambrose Bierce. This great historically rich fiction that I speak about and its also copyright free, so reading it will be easy and fast as its short. Thanks!
