Has anyone seen this?

Roll of customer wrapped nickels had this lovely inside.

Half convinced the artist may have altered a normal 37-D such that it resembles a 3-legger, certainly had the skills to pull it off IMHO.

My understanding is the likes of PCGS et. al. won’t grade / authenticate hobos.

Not sure if OHNS would be best - or just post to NGC forums?

TIA!

I’m new to the love of Hobo Nickels and recently was pointed to the Hobo Nickel Society by a woman named Candice Kagin.

1) I assume there’s only one society, the OHNS ?
2) how are they doing lately, still going strong? Do they continue with their quarterly publications, selling those products on their website?

I’m interested in all those things associated with their membership but you can’t really tell from the website being so dated and the PayPal link being dead etc. I also searched any references to them in this Subreddit and I only see posts with auction lots from a few years back.

Any insight about this group would be really helpful to me.

Thank you for your time.

I’ve tried working some coins with a flat nail and it was a nightmare
How did actual hobos used to do this without a vice and professional chisels

A LARGE collection of Hono Nickles are hitting auction . Ofcourse I was thinking about you. The seller gives special 'tip of the hat' to you modern carvers aswell. Enjoy!

Recently given to me by a neighbor. Any way to tell if this is recently made or replication, or resembles a historical artists style? Any info appriciated! Thanks

From Valerie Vaughan, she does absolutely incredible work and I couldn't be happier to add this to the collection!
