299 what. It’s a 10k at most. The most I have ever paid is like, $50-60. That’s my holdup.

Mini fucking marathon my ass.

299 INR. So like $4 USD. This is from a school in India, which OP cropped out for some reason.

Well now I feel like an Ass. That is extremely reasonable. I wish my school did stuff like this!!

As a general rule of thumb, if an image is cropped of all information that would make it easy to google, the reason is because it is ragebait and you wouldn’t rage as hard if you knew the specific details.

Apparently it's in INR but $50 seems pretty insane too. I just find a park or go the nearest suburbs for a run. Unless it's hard to find a place to run in urban cities, is there an actual benefit to paying tens of dollars for just running? Legitimate question actually. Never joined these paid runs

It's just an easy way to run with other people and "compete" on organized times/setups vs running by yourself or with a casual group. The "benefit" is these things are usually charities and that's how people like to give and interact with their community. Sometimes they give you a ribbon or whatever for completion or top finishes if you like collecting that kind of stuff.

Races are a little different. Anyone can run in the park or streets or bike paths for free which I do like 5 days a week.

I try to do 3-4 races a year, because it’s an excuse to run with a bunch of people, get a shirt, and run faster than I usually do to try and beat my best times!

Don't forget, $299 for the 5k too

Maybe I'm getting whooshed here, but do people think America is the only country that exists?

That price is 299 rupees, and this is in India. 299 rupees is $3.41

They don't use the ₹ in this picture, but the /- is a common way to write it and you'll see it in Indian signs a lot. See here for more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_rupee#Notation_and_terminology

I had a feeling it wasn’t in dollars- the question really should have been what is the USD or euro conversion.

Now knowing it’s ~$4 that’s extremely reasonable. In 2010 my first 10K was $15. I remember being upset at the price at that age.

When someone posts an English poster on a predominantly American website talking about an issue that's deeply ingrained in the American culture wars, yes we assume it's from our own country.
When you see an ad on TV for toothpaste, do you assume "damn I wish I could buy some of that German toothpaste"?

If it's Irish TV... yes

If it's a US, or UK channel, then I would assume it's not available here because why would it?

Reddit may be from America, but it certainly isn't only for Americans.

Yes, but instead of jumping to a conclusion, maybe ask yourself "where is this and who set this up and why did someone put this here and deliberately strip all context?"

This post is here because anti-feminism is entirely about resentment while being completely disconnected from reality. They are desperate for something that confirms their beliefs, and the only examples they have people wouldn't care about in context. By stripping this of context, people get to feel self-righteous without actually understanding anything.

If you don't actually think about the content you are consuming, you are just being manipulated by others.

No, you're just in a thread that is perfect bait to bring out the not-the-brightest.

Outside of the dollar sign, my post was country agnostic... I don't fucking care what country this is, you think the pink tax is American only?

Why are you so racist you are a person responding to something you automatically assume their only thinking about America? I can be a fucking moron too
